Hmmm.....The Juice Is Strong With This One
Look at our division. Not that impossible.

if you ever listen to Gil talk, listen to how many times he says, "is what it is"

Depends on wether this team can compete with Indy this year or not, because getting a Wild Card berth in the AFC will be a tall order this season by the looks of it.

If the Colts flop this season, it could get interesting.  And it's not like they were world beaters in the first place.  And if Bortles is a hit, we can easily make the Colts average for years to come having to scrounge for wildcard spots every season.
The division or even the whole AFC is weak this year. If the offense can be efficient, less turnovers, and a solid defense the door is wide open this year.  Denver owned the AFC but when they faced a stiff defense they got destroyed.  A solid defense is going to go a long way this year.

Texans are rebuilding (their window closed, just ask Andre). Titans are stagnant. Colts are being managed by a drunk. I would not be surprised if Jaguars surprise us ...

He must be pretty high on Bortles starting the season or just pretty high, then.
Nice. Let's see what happens. 8-8 would be nice!

Good grapes growing on the vine, but a fine wine by the Gus Vineyards is still a year away.  Thanks anyway Gil.

The Jaguars players are buying in to Gus' philosophy is what it is. Think back to this time last year and how we all thought our biggest weakness was our secondary, then suddenly a bunch of guys we thought were scrubs turn out to be stellar in coverage. The Jaguars just might have a team that can stay healthy as the season wears on, and I'm still expecting to hear news that Blackmon will be back at least for the last several games. Sure a few things would have to fall our way, and at best this is all just wishful thinking, but I recall a few years ago how the nfl.com guys were saying the Seahawks would be good, and I was scratching my head. Sometimes they just know things.

This.

I think the Colts are far and away the best team in the division. Maybe they're not the same lock as they were with a younger Peyton, but Luck buys them an extra 3 games they might not win otherwise. If they lay an egg, this division could become the wild west.
If it's Popsicle, it's possible.

On a serious note... Do we really have the talent to make a playoff appearance yet?

I just googled "Gil Brandt Meth" and didn't get any complete hits so that's a good thing.

The AFC South is wide open. I believe Indy is still the top team, but we're not far behind. Jags should end this season in 2nd place at best.

I would blame it on the new video boards!
It's like there's a Gus Juice party and everyone's invited

maybe you could have stopped the thread title after "drunk", given his prediction, lol

I think we'll be improved in 2014....but not playoff level improved. Not yet.
Definitely slow news days for those NFL writers. They need either get higher or drunk to write some pieces to attract eyeballs.
