I can't believe there wasn't already a NASCAR thread in this shiny new forum for all SPORTS.  Yes it's a sport in my book.

Anyway post about drivers news, races, and the chase when it starts right here.

I'll stick to open wheel and sports cars.   All the crashing in NASCAR just isn't my thing.

Curious on your thoughts on this new race team panel lead by Michael Waltrip.  They say they are going to be addressing all the issues facing race teams in NASCAR.  Could get interesting.

It seems like they are tired of NASCAR making changes every year on a whim.  NASCAR has never had standards or rules set in stone, they always make judgments on the fly.

I think Waltrip was quoted saying, "This is not a union."  But if he had to say it, it makes you wonder if that is the next step if NASCAR doesn't cooperate or recognize the panel.

NASCAR is steadily slipping into irrelevance, and they're trying everything they can think of to try to recapture the popularity they enjoyed a decade ago.

FTFY. Also why I quit watching JohnsonCAR.

If they were in the business of fixing races, Little E would win every race
I have gotten tired of the constant changes that have gone on year after year.  If this does indeed help stop NASCAR from doing that then I'm all for it.

They don't want a redneck to be the face of the sport.
They need to liven the sport up some.  Maybe some Duke boys jumps and an occasional right hand turn.

It can't just be occasional. It has to be random right hand turns.
Looks like time is running out for my boy Kahne to get into the chase with a win.  There are 5 remaining tracks (Pocono, Michigan, Atlanta, Bristol and Richmond) he has won at in the past so here's to hoping.

They should just limit the playoffs to the 4 Hendrick teams. Make official what everyone knows is the plan.
Penske has IMO out performed Hendrick this year.

so it was Atlanta that got Kahne into the chase. I hope they turn it around now and make more than just a passing showing in the chase.
