I'm so sick of ESPN's coverage of Lebron James.  A few years ago it was Tebow, then Manziel, now Lebron.  I know covering them is inevitable, but round the clock coverage of nothing but them is just making me sick.  Sportscenter literally had their rundown (the bar on the far left screen) with nothing but Lebron tabs.  Give it a rest.  I usually watch Fox Sports 1, but every now and again I'll flip it over to ESPN to see what the deal is. Apparently, Lebron is the only thing that's happening.  Not baseball, World Cup, or even a few snippets on college football or the NFL.  I see why Dan Patrick and so many other ex-ESPN guys hated working for them.

Anybody else share my anger?

Lebron James going back to Cleveland is kind of a big deal.

Agreed.  But 3 weeks of coverage guessing where he's going, reporting a billion tweets, and extensive radio coverage is just so excessisive.  Along with over-the-top ESPN "deep and emotional" stories about his rise.
I just got rid of cable.  The main reason I had it was because of ESPN, but I cannot take SportsCenter anymore.  Instead of highlights of games they show a single highlight, then have two "experts" talk about who should have won the game and who will win when they play again tonight, as if we can't just wait 8 hours and find out.  It isn't even real analysis anymore.

I cut the cord 6 weeks ago and have not missed ESPN for a second.

You watch that trash. Then, you come here and complain about the fact that it is trash.

Just spitballin' here, but I don't think you've really got to the bottom of this problem yet.

Lebron is the most powerful athlete in America. He was the most coveted Free Agent of all-time. What do you expect?

This.... Until football starts you can expect to hear King James every time you turn to a sports network.

What about all the other channels? Missing them?
Do you think ESPN doesn't do research (i.e., ratings) to figure out what people care about?

And I'm sure they put a gun to your head to make you watch it.

ESPN (and CNN, etc.) are on 24 hour news cycles, so different people will be getting the news at different times.

They don't expect people to watch 24 hours a day, but maybe you do.

An all-sports channel giving a lot of time to the biggest story of the week. Imagine that.

Also a hint: don't watch ESPN if Tiger Woods does well the first few rounds of The Open.

Amazing how fast people forget about a guy cramping up and letting his team get smashed in the finals.

The more amazing thing here is Bosh getting 118m for 5 yrs. Wow.

right back at you, lady!
I heard ESPN is having to cut down on expenses. They are moving to Cleveland

Not at all.  All of the news channels are online. You can avoid the talking heads and just read the stories.  Most re-runs are available on Netflix or Amazon Prime.  I didn't watch 95% of them anyways. I will miss some of the college football come fall, but since my wife is a big Notre Dame fan (and me by association) we will still see basically all of their games on NBC.

Hahahaha.

A Lebron hater. Are you mad because he's the most famous and best athlete in America? I'm sure he really frets over your opinion.. because you know.. he only has 2 rings and 5 MVPs.

I doubt you've even had leg cramps before. Just for your information, you can't walk.

There's a reason it's being shown. Ratings. Through the roof. Many people want to see the coverage, if not, ESPN wouldn't be doing it.

i wonder if the day will ever come when the media realizes people watching things out of spite can have a negative effect in the long run... unless you constantly show crap people watch out of spite... oh wait thats what they do.

Again, it's one of the biggest stories in sports, and has been since the NBA finals concluded.  If it wasn't worth talking about, they wouldn't, but media is driven by ratings, hits, and listening audience.  If the story was driving the numbers down in any of those categories, they'd move on to the next thing.

My team just won their 5th title. I'm not mad about anything.

For the record, the Spurs are 11-5 against LBJ in the Finals. You mad?
