Pretty good analysis
Not anything we didn't know, but a nice write up.

I like this statement....

"Should that happen, the depth is there to recover."

That is one of the best changes in the draft philosophy and free agency pickups.  Hooray for us finally drafting along the potential strength of the draft.

Pretty good article.

I think this was a very balanced, well researched article. In other words, nearly unique for the national media. The only nit I have is that they said Gerhart has the highest bust potential of the off season free agent sigings. I would put that label on Ziggy Hood. I don't really think he'll be a bust, I just think Gerhart has more potential as a home run signing.
Nice thorough article. The only negative that I took from this is Gerhart potentially being a bust. If utilized properly he'll be an true asset to this team...

Nevertheless Nice Overall article...

NH3...
refreshing to see a writeup by a reporter that truly is aware of what is going on in jacksonville!

Thanks for sharing. Very informative articles. Especially for people don't follow Jaguars closely.
Great read. Nice break down of what we have and the best part is that the team is going in the right direction. Puts a smile on my face.

While we take as much for granted, it good to actually hear the GM say it...

<p style="margin-left:40px;">"Caldwell says he expects Chad Henne to start this season and third overall pick Blake Bortles to learn the offense and be ready for 2015."

I don't see Gerhart as a viable every down back, especially if Storm, or Todman looks very impressive during TC and preseason.

You are in the minority. There is no reason to believe he can't be an every down back given what he was doing in college when he came out and what he's done in limited action in the NFL behind AP.

But Henne is underwhelming and Blake does that thing with his tongue

And thats my point, im not sold on Gerhart going from part time back to full time in the blink of an eye. But we will see.

Michael Turner did it, and did it well.

Similar career path as Gerhart, too.
Found the wording of this interesting:

With Justin Blackmon out for the season because of off-field issues...

Do they know something we don't?  Is it a lock that he's out for the whole 2014 season?

If that's your concern it's more about if he can hold up as a full time starter as opposed to a talent question. This is the one are I have wondered about too. But AKAIK, he's never been injured so there's no reason to expect he'll become injury prone. Could happen I guess, but he seems pretty sturdy.

Going from 1 established offense to another helps.

Agree.

I'm pretty sure USA Today doesn't have some inside track.  It's mere speculation just like what everyone else is doing.
