This is really unfortunate for the player and the team. They did draft Preston Brown and sign Brandon Spikes though. Alonzo is a better athlete than those two though, so they'll miss his speed and athleticism.

He was really good last year and that D will surely miss him. I was really expecting him to dominate this year.

It's been a difficult off-season relatively young talented LB's in the NFL in terms of leg related injuries. First Sean Weatherspoon goes down with a ruptured Achilles Tendon. Then Sean Lee and Kiko Alonso go down for the season with knee injuries. All 3 injuries could be the difference in the respective teams reaching the playoffs. Getting through the off-season in one piece physically and without a significant off the field incident seems like an accomplishment these days.
