Latino Americans rooting interests in several places during WC

That's crazy talk!! You're not a real fan if you root for other teams!!!

Did I do that right? Big Grin
It makes sense.  Let's break it down to the city level and the NFL.  I'm sure a large part of our season ticket holders were born in other cities and actually have 2 teams that they root for.

Jags fan first, but closet Giants fan

Magic fan first, but closet Knicks fan.

Marlins fan first, but closet Yankees fan.

Panthers fan first, but closet Rangers Fan.

The older fans more so.

Almost everyone I know that is a STH and is under 40, they are from here.

They were still in school when the team started.

I agree.  I'm part of the 40-50 group with 2 kids so our crowd is primarily the Ponte Vedra parents of kids involved in sports.  As a result, our crowd is primarily the NY/NJ/Boston/Pittsburgh crowd.   A lot of them have season tix just because they like football, want to support the Jags, and entertain via corporate marketing.
I always been a Bucs fan, I didn't really start following the Jaguars until I joined this board (09 i think).  Works out would be cool to see them face each other in the Superbowl.

The part that annoys me about Jacksonville are all the people that will make little jabs at the Jags, but when times were good they were all in for the Jags, or when things change now they will be the first to jump on.

I think that is pretty much anywhere.
I grew up in PA and was a die hard Jets fan before moving here.  Always a big fan of supporting the "home" team so got season tickets 10 years ago.  At first Jets were #1 and the Jags #2.  In the past 6-7 years that has flipped and it isn't even close anymore (what a bad stretch to fall in love with a team).  I still root for the Jets, but only as an afterthought.

Jacksonville is different.  I grew up in Pittsburgh and they were all die hard.  I know thats a different story than most cities, but still.

Jacksonville is mostly people from all over and allegiances dont change much, but its way worse here.  It's like a pasttime for many in this city to rip on the Jags.  It gets old to me.
Maybe it's because I have spent most of my life in Tampa but growing up, the Bucs were only a punchline. And the Devil Rays were terrible for their first decade. I would go to Rays games and be outnumbered by Yankees fans or Red Sox fans like 2/1 or 3/1.

I am in my 30's and except for 96-2002, the Bucs have been laughed at by most people in Tampa.

Lifelong Cowboys fan and moved here 6 years ago.  Kept an eye on the Jags but this will be our first time with season tickets.  Love football and it is close to home. Will still try to get to Texas once a year for a game.  At least they are in a different conference.

I think that happens a lot. NFC fans who move to Jacksonville and pick the Jaguars as their AFC team mostly as a matter of convenience.

Hmmmm let me think. Can't think of any in the NFL though I always end up rooting for someone in the playoffs.

College I find myself rooting for Georgia for some reason.
I grew up a Bucs fan so I always want them to do well.

My favorite college teams are the Seminoles and whoever is playing the Gaters.

I followed Jimmy Smith's career after he was cut by Dallas.  I just thought they gave up too soon on a 2nd rounder and Dallas could have used him in the mid to late 90's.  Who knows if he would have had the same results had they kept him.  They were capped out anyway and could't hold onto Harper at some point.  Just glad Philly cut him and he went to the Jags.

It's fun how the people that move here always talk about how stuff up North is SO much better.  Then why did you move here!??!
