Quote:D-Rob isn't only Impressing, he's Progressing... Two Thumbs ^…

As this scenario unfolds, the more I'm impressed w/Caldwell. Highly Impressed. Consecutive he's drafted an talented player knowing that they had an injury that would take time to rectify.

As it turns out D-Rob had an damaged ligament in his throwing hand since mid season as an college Sr. His right thumb and ring finger tendons prevented him from closing his hand. This is the reasoning that he had to relinquish his QB position. He couldn't grip the ball. The Jaguars knew this and drafted his talents regardless.

He's now able to throw spirals (Can U say Wildcat or Pistol?) and catch the ball w/ease. W/his added weight, a full offseason and regained function of his right hand, we hopedully can disregard "First Impressions"...

Training camp where Ya at?

that's an interesting thought.. Michigan had no problem letting him carry the rock although the tendons you use to grip, throw and catch are probably a bit different.

Yes Sir... Food for Thought...

well yeah but pain is pain... Perhaps the balls are a little bigger in the NFL or the injury had worsened by the time he got to the NFL.

NOPE...

Not Today, Not Tomorrow and Next Week isn't looking good either...

His injury was progressing even though it took 1.5 years and the size of the ball(s) is pointless...

BTW...

the size on the ball actually make a difference if he's having trouble gripping it and it's quite possible his pain had worsened. Just trying to point out potential factors that could have effected him last years. I'm sure there is many others.
Why is he getting yelled at in every video clip I've seen? Coach Richardson and Fisch didn't sound pleased.

It's because of his action figures
DRob is impressing in non-contact.  Let's see what happens when he's getting hammered, or guys are trying to strip the ball out.  That's when we'll see how much progress he's made.  Until then, it's like anything else.  He looks good running around in shorts.

I think catching the ball/holding onto the ball is one area that can be truly improved upon.  If he worked hard in that area of his game, he has a chance to do some good things.

But again, who isn't getting praise in OTAs?

A lot of guys were praised during OTAs and mini camp.  Hopefully that's a trend that will continue into training camp and the preseason.  We'll see.

I hope so... I really think Drob has the talent to make a difference on this team.

The talent is certainly there.  He just needs to have that attention to detail that makes a talented player a successful one.

agreed. I felt like last preseason he showed a lot of promise and tough runs but it just didnt transition over to the regular season.
We'll have to see how bulking up impacts his game.  That's not always a good thing.

I wonder if Shorts knows that someone is running around inside of him... ;-)
