The inevitable money grab. MJD/Lawyer will probably figure the cost to defend, add another 10k and send a check to the dude and consider themselves lucky. Since the incident I have heard from someone that was there that I trust and he told me that it is without doubt that MJD hit the dude. I believe him. They will cut a check, bank on it.

Oh, I don't doubt he did something. But, nobody was talking to the St. Aug police.
This will be settled out of court. I'm sure this poor guy is really suffering emotional distress after being hit so hard he can't even pursue his boxing career.
I wonder if he sued any of his opponents from the past for doing the same thing?

That would probably need to be a class action suit because a lot of fans would want to jump on that one.

Hasn't that been attempted before? or something similar by season ticket holders of some pro team (not even sure if it was football)...
There have been all sorts of lawsuits where fans have filed lawsuits against teams or the league. There was a guy last year who was a steeler fan who filed a lawsuit against the NFL because San Diego made the playoffs. He sued because there was a no call on an illegal formation penalty that, if the ref had thrown the flag, would have allowed KC to re-kick a field goal that had been missed. San Diego ended up winning the game and going to the playoffs.

Sorry I'm not a lawsuit happy guy at all, never been apart of a suit or anything, but if an NFL player hit me while I was at work, damn straight I'd sue.

how is a crap lawsuit, didn't MJD punch this guy who worked there? it's pretty clean and dry I know there wasn't enough "evidence" that he punched him for criminal prosecution but civil court is a different matter completely. I could've sworn there's even been 1st hand accounts of people saying beyond a doubt MJD punched the guy. He lost his cool and now it's going to cost him, don't see anything wrong with it at all.

These kinda of lawsuits are just lame to me. Maybe I'm just a handle things outside of court guy if you know what I mean. If this was an average joe they would just settle this like men. But since it's MJD I get it. I would do the exact same thing.

This is nothing new.
The guy who claimed to have been assaulted by MJD was considering a civil suit ever since SJC police considered MJD not a suspect.
