Agreed, I think the smaller space will lead to "filled" stands and provide an intimate experience. Obviously, this is still the Suns' home -- I know the mockup shows the pitch full of grass, but won't we end up playing on clay (at least partially)?

That's my question. I don't yet know how many times the Suns and Armada will have scheduled games close together (I don't know when the 2015 Southern League schedule is produced), but as a fan of the Suns and weekend-season ticker holder I'm curious about the field conditions.

I know they'll have to remove the pitcher's mound but will they attempt to cover the infield dirt? I don't think that will work.

This could get a little messy. Let's hope there aren't too many overlapping games. I think I read somewhere the initial thought was there may be as many as ten.
For more information check out the Everbank naming-rights extension thread in the Jaguars Forum. Within the Times-Union story re Everbank is a link to the Times-Union story re the Armada using The Baseball Grounds.

Thanks. Looks like there's a sizable cost to make the grounds soccer-friendly. The cranky comments on Jacksonville.com never cease to amaze me. We have a professional soccer team in town, and they still find ways to complain. Nevermind the genius that insists on using EB field as a venue, cause you know, we really need all those seats.

It's also where people who ride the short bus go and hang out.
