Quote:Dude, you were Gabbert's agent there for a hot minute. [BAD WORD REMOVED] are you talking about

The fact that I defended the guy before he showed he was done getting better has what to do with what we're talking about right now, exactly?
Quote:watch mariucci sit down with TB... that was one of the best that i have seen mariucci do... he was askin him the questions everyone wanted to here and puttin him in really awkward spots, but it was something that was good to see.. tb handled it ok, but i came away second guessing the kids mentality and confidence...mariucci was puttin him on the spot with questions about how he thought he was the best qb in the draft but he was askin him to explain why infront of two other qb's in the draft lol.... i saw the gabby/ponder episode with john gruden... gruden was high on gabbert and i actually came away from that one thinkin gabbert could be better than newton lol... last time i took grudens word on qb's too
TB is only 21 and played for a small school.  He didn't have many opportunities to brush up the camera-media skill.  I remembered watching an interview clip of him right before the All-State Sugar Bowl 2 years ago, and he was camera shy.  Obviously, not everyone can have the media confidence that Manziel has.  But then again, these skills aren't important.

Gabbert was nothing special.  Of all the interviews I watched, he came across as someone who said all the right things, but exuded no confidence or excitement.  Maybe it was because of Tom Condon that helped his draft stock?

IIRC, part of the trade with the 49ers involved a conditional pick next year.

In order for that pick to be maximized, I want him to do well.
Currently, he is beaten out by McLoed Bethel Thompson, a practice squad QB.

Palantonio asked him about the comparisons to Roethlisberger

LOL, from day one Gabbert showed that he was missing a pulse. Too bad the trainers didn't have some sort of narcotic that reanimates the dead

i understand what u are getting about about tb... but i dont feel that having camera confidence was really what i was looking for when answering those questions... coach mariucci was asking more about comments that he had made prior to the interview and draft that made the two other qb's in the room look directly at him anticipateing an answer.. i felt like it was other two in the room who put the pressure on him not just the camera or mariucci... it was like they were asking him"yeah why do u think you are better than us"... steve asked the same questions of the other two qb's and i felt like their answers not only were more well delivered, but they also seemed to just take ownership of what they felt... TB looked like he almost regretted thinking he was the best, which i believe is a healthy and important line of thinking, especially for QB ... most of all it made wonder how he would deal with an NFL locker room if he had a team or team mate who questioned him in anyway, would he take ownership and be a leader or would he shy away from it, the way i felt he did when confronted my mariucci... i think TB is good guy and i hope he turns into something in the NFL, but after this past year i just wasn't as confident in him translating to the NFL as i was after his freshman campaign.. i personally like people who are more shy and reserved rather than arrogant and cocky, but i feel like certain positions require that level of healthy confidence about yourself to be successful and get other people around you to follow you into battle, and i felt like that was something TB was lacking... im not saying i want a manziel lvl of confidence, thats on the polar oposite end of the spectrum from TB and like anything i feel like too much of anything can be a bad thing .

IMO this may have been something that messed with him at his pro day, ive seen teddy make the throws he missed tons of times prior to that day, but i felt like the scouts and critics that surrounded him that day and it may have gotten to him a little and possibly made him struggle the way he did...  it was as though since he was surrounded by people who questioned him and not just people who were cheering him on and trying to help him, he became a bit of a different player... people looking at him through the critics lens will be all he is  surrounded by in the NFL, at least in the beginning and im interested to see how he will respond to it.

I figured you would, given your past team affiliations.
Sal Pal is a closet Jags fan. He just wanted to hang with Bortles..

actually, Sal Pal is a vomit inducing Eagles homer. Much more so than Pete Prisco is a Jags homer, if thats possible.
