I liked the remake of Snow White they did a few years back, can't remember what they called it. I'll wait for RedBox on this one, question Trav is it not "kid" friendly seems like the protagonist is a little more adult appropriate? I try to avoid scaring the kids into my bed when possible.

There are a few parts that made my oldest girl a little leery, but overall not bad. All three of our kids loved it. The youngest, 3, really enjoyed it.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Angelina Jolie was great as Maleficent and the effects were pretty good, too (saw it in 3D at IMAX). Interesting little factoid, one of Jolie's daughters played the toddler aged Aurora.

Disney is an amazing marketing machine. I can get why people don't like Disney, but they are brilliant at sucking people in.
When I was a kid I collected pins. I told my wife this weekend that I would like for my son to start doing that also. Pin collecting at Disney sure has changed. I was a sucker and our first purchase was for $85...hope he enjoys them. lol

Quote:Disney Addict here. The family and I went to see Maleficent last night. Wasn't sure what to expect, but man was I blown away. Disney did it again. Love how they retold the sleeping beauty story, and the twists added. Never thought they would do what they did with the Maleficent character, but I loved it. Great story all around. Is it a dark side of the fairy tale? If so makes me think that our counrty has lost that TV innocence it once had.
Angelina Jolie was very good as the main character. The detail to each scene was phenomenal as well.
Two   up

Have you watched the old classics lately?
There's some really dark, messed up stuff in Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Pinocchio, and pretty much most of the old cartoon films.
I was a bit surprised watching them with my kids for the first time in 30 something years. It was eye opening seeing them from the point of view of a parent, and hadn't remembered them being so dark when I was a child.
That being said... not interested in Maleficent. Will probably catch it on DVD, which is what I do with most movies. Not a fan of Angelina Voight. She's a terrible actress, but a decent model... which is pretty much what she does in front of the camera.

Is it just me or is Angelina losing her hottness? Seems like it's been deteriorating at a rapid rate over the last handful of years.

I never was all that fussed over her to begin with.
Too thin & waify
I like a curvy featured woman like a Tiffani Amber Theissen. (not sure if she even uses the Amber anymore...

Also, there are dark sides to many stories of old.

Google skinny Angelina Jolie. I don't mean to ruin how you think she looks but no thank you.
