I attended my brother's wedding in SF the same year Clinton was running for office the first time. The Bay Area locals were shocked when I told them how different the political support was in the valley. They just assumed everyone in CA voted Democrat. The misperceptions about California exist within the state itself.
Yep. President Obama was here a few months ago speaking about the drought crisis we're currently facing. Didn't go over real well.
