Quote:For the people saying he quit on buffalo. Wilson died and there was a change in ownership, there was a greater than not chance that the Pegula's were going to axe him and get their own guy regardless of what he did. He didnt agree with the drafting of EJ Manuel or the moves the GM was making. He was a lame duck who made the smart move and got out of dodge with a fully guaranteed salary before he could be scapegoated, had Wilson not unfortunately passed away I still believe he'd be coaching in Buffalo as his opt out was only for a change in ownership, and he had a 9-7 record in a division with Brady his first year. He's a good coach, that said I'd still like to see them bring Coughlin back.

They split with the Pats and won the meaningless last game of seasons Brady sat from the sidelines with many other starters.
I just watched it.  I was expecting something along the lines of the rally speech given by Braveheart from some of the comments here.  It wasn't that.

Marrone is saying all the right things in the pressers and all but have to take them with a pinch of salt because this is effectively a part of the interview process for him too.
Quote:I'm not trying to sell him as the next HC candidate and im not buying it right now either. if we come out again next week and win in the same fashion, then he'll have some of my attention. What im trying to get at is i enjoy how he speaks to the press. i feel like gus always spoke in circles and said the exact same things every week. i like how marrone explained his gameplan and his approach to facing the titans.

No, I completely agree. If we'd of had 3 more quarters of football like the 1st 5quarters (under Marrone) I think he'd have had us all sold.  That's what I was hoping for. Too bad the team fell flat in the end.
