Quote:According to the presser today Bortles really didn't want to go to the nfl rookie premier event. Wanted to stay and work. I thought that was cool. Also Shorts was out today along with Lee, Robinson and Sandsrs I think. Gives those young guys a shot.

Not too concerned about too many of the other "young guys" getting reps, per se, as most won't make the team.

However, it is my hope Lee and Robinson are hanging out with Shorts to help learn how he approaches the time when he is out injured.

Hopefully he is taking them under his wing and giving them some pointers.  Hopefully they continue to listen intently to Sullivan.

I thought I heard somewhere that Pants Is taking on a real leadership role. Also Sullivan said he expected him to breakout this year and he was even voted on NFL network to be a top 5 receiver this season. Interesting praise.

Though I didn't hear that on NFLN regarding Shorts, it is good to hear that Shorts is taking on a leadership role.

It's smart of him to do that, too.  If he can help make them productive players and viable receiving threats this year, it can make him more productive, which may lead to a more lucrative contract-if not with Jacksonville, then somewhere else.
edit

Quote:If reports from today are true he confronted Coach Bradley about his poor performance and was able to bounce back and have a much better day today.

THAT is what you want to hear from the guy who will wind up being the face of your franchise.

Yeah, its good to see this from Bortles early. It suggests leadership qualities.

. It may have Ben top 5 breakout receivers or top 5 young receivers or something rather. Either way he is expected to put up good numbers this season and if he stays healthy I don't see any reason he won't.
I think Blake is trying TOO hard
