Losing DeSean Jackson will hurt Foles a little, but I think they more than made up for it by signing Sproles and drafting a couple of good WR's.
I usually draft a QB in the late 1st round or early 2nd, depending on when I pick. Drafted Manning last year in the middle 2nd and won it all.
When the dust settles, how high do you guys think Foles will be in the fantasy rankings for QB's?
I'm thinking 4th behind only Manning, Brees and Rodgers.
Not sure i'd put him over Newton
You take Qb in the first? You shouldn't do that.
too high. brees, manning, rodgers, newton, then youre gonna have the die hard brady fans, rivers, foles, kaep, rg3, and luck all falling in some random order right after that. so my answer is anywhere from 5 - 10

I won my very competitive league twice in the last 5 years with that strategy, and usually make the playoffs.
Granted I always have picked Brees, Rodgers or Brady (50 TD year) when they happen to have record breaking years.
Last year I changed my strategy to try to get a top RB in the 1st, and picked Doug Martin. BUST! Still won the whole championship based on my selection of Peyton in the 2nd, two of the top 4 TE's, the best DST and best Kicker. My RB's and WR's had to be constantly rotated with free agents, but having the strong QB won it for me.

Really? Newton has no WR's. Sure he might have to run for a lot of yards, but still.
On another note, I might target TE Greg Olsen, because he is going to get A LOT of targets this year.

It all depends on how the league scoring is set up. My league has a qb spot PLUS a full flex spot (qb/rb/wr/te) so you can essentially play two quarterbacks. I won my league two years in a row by going heavy on running backs. I had Jamaal Charles(1st pick), LeSean McCoy(2nd pick), and Eddie Lacy(6th pick) with Russell Wilson and Ryan Tannehill as my quarterbacks. I also had Jimmy Graham(3rd pick) too, but still.
Anyway, on the topic. I think he'll be between the 5-8 range. In my league I get to keep two players but I'll have to forfeit my pick in the round I picked that player. I plan on keeping McCoy and Lacy and picking up Foles in the 3rd

I'd keep Charles if I were you. He should be the #1 player. McCoy might lost a few carries and especially receptions this year with the addition of Sproles.
My league is PPR, and we don't retain players from year to year.
I'd say top five for sure. Can't argue against ranking him fourth though

My league is ppr as well. I'm thinking if I can keep McCoy and Lacy I would only forfeit my picks in rounds 2 and 6, and can focus on the top wrs and qbs. McCoy and Lacy will be top 6 rbs and I can have #6 on that list with the later pick.
lol.....Nick Foles....
people are easily duped.

I won't say any names, but you are just as easily duped as anybody else on this forum.

I don't think I agree. Qb's are much more important now than they used to be with passing offenses.

A guy that I work with is a huge Eagles fan. He says Nick Foles is the next Peyton Manning....we laugh at him all the time.
I think he could be pretty good....but Peyton Manning? lol
It depends on the league you're in. Are you ESPN yahoo NFL? on the ESPN drafts he's going in like the 7th atm, but i'm sure that'll change once the preseason gets started. I also have no idea when you're set to draft this year. But i'm hoping i pick in the later part of the 1st so i can go jimmy gram first, then take a RB second or a top tier WR and grab the Gronk with my #4 and use both TE's in the flex position once gronk is healthy. RB this year I think will make or break the league because of how so many teams are going committe, I've been picking up Toby and Sankey in 5-6 range just because they seem to be bell cows. Also in ESPN CJ spiller is dropping into the 4th as well and I doubt he has as bad a season as he did last year. But other than payton, brees and rodgers most of the Qbs are going in rounds 6 or later.
Also look at carson palmer larry fitz and floyd as sleeper picks this year. At the end of last year when everything started clicking for that offense they were putting up some beastly numbers.

I've gotten into so many arguments up here from stupid Eagles fans thinking that stiff is good, and me setting them straight on how its Chip Kellys offense making Foles look good.

Article by editor over at Grantland, Robert Mays:
"Foles’s lack of overall running ability may shrink some parts of Kelly’s playbook, but yesterday, his ability as a passer showed how other areas can be expanded. Tight end Zach Ertz, the Eagles’ second-round pick this year, had his best game of the season against Arizona, and Foles has turned Riley Cooper into a legitimate receiving threat.
His ability to read and manipulate defenses has added a new dimension to the Eagles’ passing game."
"With all the zone-read action in the Eagles’ offense, someone might assume that many of Foles’s throws are simple, one-receiver reads made possible by play-action, but watching games from the past month, it’s clear that Foles has a very good understanding of his progressions and of coverages. He isn’t going to go an entire season without throwing an interception (or five), but this also isn’t a fluke. He seems to have a very strong grasp of everything happening around him."
Foles' attributes (pre-snap reads, foot work, decent arm strength, decision making, etc.) allow him to manipulate defenses. Not every quarterback is going to succeed in Chip Kelly's offense (see: Michael Vick, Matt Barkley), but it is a great offense for a quarterback good with pre-snap reads. I don't think Nick Foles is an elite quartberback, but I definitely think he is in the top 2/3rds of the league.

So, after all that fluff, he ends the article maintaining that Foles is a "top 21 QB in the NFL". Ooooooooh, wow, thats just great.

as of last year he was top ten. last see if he keeps it up.

I feel like I could be put in Chip Kelly's offense and be top 20 in the NFL.
