Quote:It don't matter if he comes back or not. He will not be missed if he doesn't. Personally I hope he doesn't, and he's gone for good.  We have some very good weapons .

Sorry but players like him and Hernandez just need to go Away,  and the NFL needs to make a statement and to show the young ones who look up to them, that this behavior will not be tolerated.

That's my 2 cents. :thanks:
Come on now!!! We are a better team with him and can only hope he comes back and stays sober.
Quote:Blackmon will not be back.  If you are curious if he is taking tests administered by the NFL go out to the bars in Jax Beach on just about any night of the week and you will probably find him.  My guess is he is not taking tests, and if he is then he is not passing them.  We drafted two receivers early, we cleaned out his locker, and Caldwell is saying there is less than a 5% chance he will play next year.  If Blackmon were abiding by the rules and working hard to get his life in order then why would we do this?
I'd definitely like to see someone post proof that he is actually doing this

He's not, he hasn't been in town for months.
Theres a picture on twitter with Blackmon partying here at Suite.. Maybe 2 montgs ago I would guess
I've seen him at the beach bars twice but that was before his suspension. I talked to him and he seemed awkward. Was hanging out with Marcedes and some O Linemen IIRC
If this draft doesn't get #14's attention as a Jaguar, nothing will.   These are exciting times to be in Jax.

All he has to do is pee clean for awhile until they change the policy (and I think they will).

Edit:  I changed my mind - I don't want him back.  He's got more problems than mere substance abuse.

He should chat with Ricky Williams. Blackmon is the most awkward person I've ever seen in interviews.

I'll never forget his "I-I'm not a uniform..." response
I'm still surprised nobody has said welcome to "DUIval" blackmon.

I would just like to join the chorus on this one. I don't like how Blackmon conducts himself, and I absolutely hate that the one "talent guy" Gene took a shot at despite serious character questions wound up being a drunken bum, but putting him in the same sentence as a guy who's suspected of three murders (last time I counted)? Really?

Quote:I just would like to know if he is being tested during his indefinite suspension.
I'm fairly certain that being tested during his suspension is a requirement. Just throwing a baseless guess out there, but if Caldwell knew that Blackmon was still failing pee tests as of two weeks ago, it might have helped nudge him towards the decision to draft two wideouts and give away his locker. Wouldn't be the sole reason for his making it--we do know that the Jags lack quality receivers, but I have a wee little hunch that if Caldwell knew Blackmon would be back by mid-year, he might have drafted an interior lineman at the end of the second round/early third instead. Purely a guess.

Ignore my last post that was a dumb joke.

There was a thread on it a few months back.

I don't have a twitter nor do I feel like looking it up.

It was discussed when the picture leaked on this very message board.

Who's Justin Blackmon?[/quote

^this
Justin Blackmon's decisions have been a too much of a let down for me to care anymore. I'm simply rallying around the hard working talent that we drafted and the men already on the roster who are actually focused on improving this team.

Quote:No they don't.  And they shouldn't.  He's been suspended by the league indefinitely.  The details of his life are not our business.  The details of whether he is putting himself in a position to come back or not will never be our business until the day he applies for reinstatement.  At that point, then the only part of it which will be our business is whatever part the team deem necessary to tell the fans.

That doesn't seem like the best way to help the guy, just throwing him out like that and not allowing any contact.

I saw that, too.

Last thing I've heard about Blackmon on this board was that he drove his car into a rail but was not intoxicated, I'm on here fairly often I don't think i'd miss it.

They have a league program that doesn't involve the teams, Shad said he has lots of help available. He just, allegedly, wont stay in rehab.

So you think we're just making stuff up?

It was around the same time he drove his car into the railing... a couple of weeks before or after that incident IIRC.

I'll see if I can find it.
