Is it worth bringing in Colt Lyeria as UDFA? Paying him nothing unless he is signed and make the contract so heavy with restrictions.
He has had problems in the past but showed when he had structure he was no problem and was actually a top student.
Seems like a no harm no foul try for a potential steal.

i think it probably would be worth it, as a UDFA for sure. i was on board using a 6th or 7th once i realized there was no interest it got weirder though. i know he has his red flags but he has a lot of upside.

No. It's not worth it. The guy's got character issues coming out the wazoo. I doubt many teams will give him a shot.
The Packers brought him in as a tryout guy anyway.
I do want to see what happens to him, If he can clean his life up or if he just falls off the face of the world.

This is a player who could have gone in Round 2 if he didn't have significant baggage. If Lyerla truly cleans his life up, he could thrive in the Packers Offense which has a top flight QB, a strong WR corp, and excellent coaching. Having said that, with Lyerla's baggage, he probably wasn't even on most NFL Draft Boards.

He was impressing packers coaches until he got injured. They said they're gonna cut him and if he clears waivers out him on the injured reserve list.
Would be nice to steal him off of there. He seems like he has matured enough to trust and his talent and ceiling is very high.
I can see why Jax would steer clear of him given his specific drug history, but if he is clean now I think Bradley would be the perfect coach to pair him with, Gus Juice baby.

to me, if the packers are willing to give him a shot, then they believe he is going to stay on the straight and narrow. after blackmon its kind of hard to say they should take a shot, but the guy is a first round talent.
