People are underrating Toby Gerhart in here. He didn't get that 3 year $10 million deal for nothing. He will  be a huge pick up for us and I expect him to make the probowl this year.

If Blake shows out in the preaseason and gets the starting nod I can see us pushing for the playoffs.

he's not starting even if he beats out Henne, which he should. just get it out your head.

Also lol at some guys in here saying our division got way better. Stop drinking the Clowney koolaid and applying that to everything in the division. The Titans barely did anything to get better, the same with the Colts, and Houston did nothing to address their QB position and you guys are way overrating Watt+Clowney, it's not like they will stop everything the offense tries to do. JJ Watt got sonned by Austin Pasztor one-on-one last year, and Houston are already shooting themselves in the foot by making Clowney drop into coverage.

Meanwhile we've gone from in the mud to walking on it. You guys are way underrating the fat we've replaced MJD with Gerhart and improved both the O-Line and receiver corps. All of those things were as piss poor as possible last year because guys were old, suspended, or out of position. Just by merely having actual fresh legs and consistent talent lifts us A LOT and we won't be wasting our time with Gabbert this year.

I agree. What has everyone so afraid of Clowney? First of all he will be a rookie and second of all he got 3 whole sacks last season. He isn't all that IMO (yet) and might just be a bust.

No my view hasn't changed. Jags go 9-7 this year. I said that before the draft, and I keep saying it. 9-7 I stand by 9-7 for this season.

I fully expect the team to win more than four games this year because we don't have to play against the best two divisions in the NFL, Gus Bradley is not a rookie, and we are continuing to put talented players on our roster. But until I memorize the schedule and see what the new guys can do I will not make any predictions about the record.

If you  break it down by position, the Jaguars improved at 9 positions:

QB - Blaine Gabbert being traded was an improvement in itself, and we added a franchise qb prospect. Henne another year in the system.

RB - We got younger and faster with the additions of Storm and Gerhart. Gerhart may be 29, but he still has a lot of tread left. And cant forget Denard with a year of learning under his belt, and he's bulking up. Imagine if he doesn't lose his speed and improves his ball-carrying?

WR - Obviously got better. Added Lee and Robinson, two first-round caliber prospects, to a decent trio of Shorts,Ace, and Brown. With Blackmon, this would easily be the deepest position on the roster.

G - Nwaneri was a decent loss, but he wasn't a great scheme fit. I think Beadles is an improvement, and it was not hard to get someone better than Rackley. Linder will be an improvement as well.

C - Meester was bad last season. Brewster might become a better fit at center, plus Bowanko adds someone that can compete with Brewster. This one is a little questionable right now, but I feel it is an improvement.

DE - Added a lot of talent and depth. Chris Clemons, Red Bryant, & Chris Smith added to Branch, Davis, Alualu, & Babin. LEO is being solved by committee right now, but atleast there's depth there. Alualu might be a better player as a rotational guy behind Red.

DT - Not a significant improvement, but I think Ziggy Hood will be good as a rotational guy with Marks. My question mark is who backs up Roy Miller? DeAndre Coleman?

OLB - Additions of Watson and Telvin Smith, along with a healthy Geno Hayes.

CB - Very slight improvement, because Colvin might not even play this upcoming season, but I do like the depth at the position. Gratz a year under his belt.

Stayed the same, but didn't get worse :

FB - Not like this position is as important as when Greg Jones was here.

TE - Cant rely on UDFAs to improve a position.

T - Joeckel, Pasztor, Bradfield. It's a good group. We will finally get to see Joeckel at LT for more than a quarter.

K/P - Not like it needed any adjustment. Thank Gene for our franchise punter!

ILB - Didn't need any adjustment. Telvin Smith may eventually become the inside LB.

FS - Evans might improve, but I think this will be a position of weakness going into next years draft.

SS - We added Loston. Cyprien made strides near the end of last season. You could argue this position will improve because im sure cyp will be a lot better.

Free agency and the draft improved more than half of the roster from a positional standpoint. 9 improved vs. 8 same. All 3 phases(offense, defense, and special teams) improved significantly. Marqis Lee gives us a potential KR threat (finally).

Gerhart is probably going to get between 320-380 carries barring injury. It would not surprise if he put up around 1300 yards and made the Pro Bowl.
