The NCAA is going to do itself in.
What is CFA?

Horrible situation. I don't see how anyone can read that story and not want to help him out.
Not like the NCAA cares though. Disgusting organization.

Crazy story....seems like a really good kid.
I get why the NCAA has their rules, and why they are enforcing it in this case. Somebody will help this kid, and the NCAA will never know, hopefully.

I think the NCAA has some issues but to turn this on the NCAA seems over the top.

The community should come together and help this man out. His situation is unfortunate.

Rules should be amended in certain situations, given the situation of the player.

It's brilliant moves like this that only ensure that the NCAA will continue losing the battle against unionization and payment of college players. Hope the kid is able to get some help--some things are more important than football, and if he accepts aid for housing and is summarily sanctioned by the NCAA, I would expect a hefty lawsuit to follow in short order.

The NCAA granted Boise a waiver so they could help the kid prior to his arrival in June.
Great story. That's the kind of kid you want to root for to succeed, and odds are he will.
Also, was it the NCAA keeping him homeless, or the rules revolving around section 8 housing and someone receiving government assistance?
That's not the NCAA. That's the entity subsidizing the uncle's housing that's responsible. From what I can tell, the NCAA and Boise State are trying to help this kid.

Quote:Unbelievably, Antoine explains that he's now homeless again. With his uncle living in a government subsidized house, regulations forced Antoine to leave.

Appears he left his fathers home on his own doing when he was young to get involved in gang activity. Didn't focus in school to have grades to play at collegiate level. I appreciate the fact that he is trying to turn his life around but actions have consequences.

It's more fun to blame erroneously with total disregard for the facts. It's so difficult to first read and then remember to read for comprehension as well.
