im sure they will fleece some team into giving up a lot for him. running back are going the way of dinosaurs and he isnt getting any younger anyway. but some team will bite.

smart to actually try to move him while he still has value.

We made the mistake of hanging on to MoJo too long.

Again, nobody is going to trade for that contract.  I don't care how solid he's been.  The salary numbers over the next 3 years are scary for a running back turning 30 years old.  I don't care if it is AP.

Holy crap he's turning 30??

He's 29 now.  I'm sure you can figure out what comes next.

I just didn't realize he was that old, Mr snarky.

Age happens.

Like everyone else said, I can't see them finding a suitor that would give them anything more than a 3rd day selection for him and even then it would only be if he had already agreed to lower his salary on what's left of his contract.

I dunno, Peterson still has enough star quality to where I could see some team doing it.

Eric Dickerson was traded at this point of his career? no?

Did you look at the contract numbers?

Have you been paying attention to the trends for salaries at RB lately?

Dickerson was 27 when he was traded.

Then you didn't read the article because it says he's 29.

Not to mention that was literally almost 30 years ago at this point.

This isn't the NFL of the 80s and 90s.
Sounds like an unsubstantiated rumor to me.  Maybe it's in their best interest to trade, but I highly doubt they will.

I'm having a hard to believing they won't find a suited for a first round d pick.

From the article:

Quote:Peterson will receive a base salary of $11.75 million in 2014, then $12.75 million in 2015. In 2017, it will climb to $15.75 million.

I seriously doubt there's a team in this league that's going to give up a 1st round pick for a 30 year old running back who is targeted to make almost $40 million in BASE salary over the next 3 years.

If the Broncos can afford it and the Broncos are truly "all-in" for this year, they should start working that phone.

You're talking about potentially putting together the greatest team in all time with Manning and Peterson back there.

But I doubt they have the cap space to bring him in.

I'd give up a second for him, he's good.

Why? The Jags still won't be a playoff team with Peterson back there. There's no point in trying to obtain him.

This team will be better off with its RB committee.
