According to Peter King, he was. Some might say that's a heckuva consolation prize. Others... not so much. Will be interesting to see how this plays out over the next few years and find out which team got the best QB of the draft. Hopefully, it's the Jags.

Bridgewater is going to have an opportunity to prove himself better than a consolation prize under Norv Turner.

It will be interesting to see Minnesota plays outside games in December.

It's a good thing he wears gloves.
I was thinking that Bortles might have expected to be drafted by Minnesota, given his choice of attire that evening. Wasn it it close to a "purpleish" color sport jacket and tie?

Most people wouldn't have noticed the colors in his jacket and tie.

I should have stated my point better.  Most people wouldn't have cared what colors he was wearing.

Remember when Manziel had a teal tie on? (Not at the draft, mind you)

We'll never know who was really the best QB. We'll know who had the best won-lost record or career. Because it's a team game with so many dependent parts, with so many variables, we'll always be left to wonder what if.
Bridgewater is still the best QB to come out of this class, Bortles might have more potential but Bridgewater was certainly more pro ready.

I agree.

I still think Bridgewater will be the best QB from this class. He's going to be really good. Really good.

I remember reading about the $100,000 study Cleveland did on QB analytics, and reading about how it was Teddy Bridgewater that topped all of the categories in their study....because of this, I actually think there is credence to the story that the Browns screwed up their pick and meant to take Teddy Bridgewater but for whatever reason took Manziel.

Well considering, they dont really have much faith in Ponder, and Cassell beyond 2015 I wont be surprised if he sees alot of time with the 1st team reps during TC and preseason.

Apparently, Minn ranked both Manziel and TB as first rounders, but not in their top 10 players.
Bridgewater doesn't fit Norv Turner's vertical passing game.  His arm is too weak.

But Norv was the one who drafted him...

One of you was wrong then.

it sounds like from putting the stories together... it looks like the browns very well may have called teddy and said we are going to pick you. and teddy or his agent told them he did not want to play there. which might be why they crossed his name out and went with manziel.

edit: there is a story on espn right now where teddy told reporters he did not want to play in cleveland and his agent was aware of that.

If you're a young QB, why would you want to go to Cleveland?
