Alright, since the draft is officially over, let's make the prediction:
1. Which rookie qb has the best chance to start the season?
Since both the Jags and Vikings signed Henne and Cassel respectively for $8 - $10 millions for two years, there is very little chance that either Bortles or Bridgewater will start the season, unless either somehow beat out their incumbent starter decisively. Similar to Jake Locker's rookie year, both will see the field sparingly this season.
Manziel, on the other hand, will have the best chance to start because Hoyer is coming off an ACL, but more importantly, it's the "Tebow-mania" effect that will push Pettine to start Manziel. I really don't think Manziel will start the season. For all the crazy hype that he received, he's nowhere near the prospect that Luck, RG3, or Cam were; those three were elite prospects, but he will have more playing time than Bortles or TB.
2. Which rookie will be the starter for the final quarter of the season?
Easily Manziel. It's the "Tebowmania effect". Gus will go the conservative route with Bortles, and I predict TB will get more playing time than Bortles.
3. Which rookie has the best chance to win Rookie of Year?
Manziel, but only because he has more playing time. However, I'm willing to bet money that the QB will not win Rookie of Year; it will go to Sammy Watkins. (E.J, believe it or not, was doing a decent job as a rookie before he got hurt. Watkins will be big for him).
Mettenberger, Manziel, and Savage all take over by midseason. Bridgewater and BB mop up at the end of the year.
That's also a good scenario.
Metteberger and Savage shouldn't even see the field.
Manziel will be starter day 1. You can't keep a guy like that off the field.
Interesting predictions from Chris Wesserling of NFL.com.

Personally I disagree with his predictions. I don't think any of the rookie QB is day 1 starter. Manziel has the best shot since Brian Hoyer is not any better than Chad Henne, plus he's coming back from an ACL injury. Unless Manziel pulled something crazy like drunk and drive, the "Tebow-effect" will push him to be the opening starter. TB has the toughest competition in Matt Cassell, who is better than both Henne and Hoyer and can be a solid starter if everything around him is good. As for Bortles, I really hope that Wesserling's prediction isn't true, because if both Manziel and TB really beat out their previous starter and Bortles can't start over Henne, that's a little disheartening to hear.
Honestly, I hope none of the three rookie will starter on opening day.
Get the name right please. Its moneybags ,not Manziel. I lost all respect for him when he started his money thing with the hands. Its Johney Moneybags.

Johnny deeply wants your respect.

Bridgewater should start day 1.
TB faces much tougher competition in Cassel than Manziel and Bortles in their respective team.
Why my dad is upset we didn't pick johny Moneybags, im glad we didn't. It sounds like Bortles has a better work ethic, and wants to make team better.
Garappolo beats out Brady in training camp.
Can't believe you guys missed this one.
Update:
From the looks of things, it seems like none of the rookie QBs will be week 1 starter. Both TB and Bottles seem impressive so far, but their bridge QB counterparts are holding their own against 1st team defense.
If Hoyer is solid against the Redskins, Manziel won't be a starter, either.
Update after Monday game:
It looks like neither Manziel nor Hoyer wants to win the starting gig.
My guess is no rookie QB will start in the 2014 regular season opening week. Having said that, Blake Bortles probably would start if the criteria was giving his team the best chance of winning in the short term, instead of what's best for Bortles and the long term future of the Jaguars.
Even though he is nothing special I see Manziel starting week 1 for the Browns because Hoyer did nothing (probably cause the Browns offense sucks in general) for the coach to not start him. There is going to be a lot of stupid pressure and given that front office is full of morons I just see them throwing their new pretty boy to the wolves.
Whelp....there will no no rookie QB starting this season.
Looks like it will be Derek Carr for the Raiders.
While the competition at QB for Derek Carr is probably the worst in the entire league, good job by Carr in ascending to the team's top spot. My gut feeling though is the Raiders will regret starting Carr at the beginning of the season. Blake Bortles and Teddy Bridgewater should benefit by not starting right away.
Interesting that reports were quick to declare Ted was "closing the gap" one week into practice, then the opposite was true as the actual preseason unfolded.
Carr is starting out of necessity and anxiousness. Too bad for him. I believe Caldwell was right when he said they all needed "need a little bit of seasoning and to sit back and watch for a little bit." Like his peers, I think he could have used more time. There's too much "bad" with that franchise for him (or any QB, rookie or vet) to overcome alone. He can play well and still not achieve much.

Looking back at Matthew Stafford's rookie season in which he played behind an Offensive Line with major issues and he suffered two injuries that sidelined him much of the season, I believe strongly that Dave Caldwell and Gus Bradley are handling the situation with Blake Bortles the right way.
