I think it would be a good hire for Florida. He had too much on his plate as HC but would be a good DCoordinator. I bet he'd be a great recruiter.

Also, he's been the cool teacher enough and he's seen where that got him. I think that his approach to accountability is going to be a lot different moving forward.


Also, the draft process limits the amount of creativity a coach can have with personell. You can only get so many draft picks. In the college game you get as many as you can recruit.


I think that in the short term he is a good fit for a college team.


In the long term I think it will be hard for him to get another shot as an nfl head coach, but i think there s a good chance he'll be a lot more successful should he get another opportunity. He's going to learn a lot from his experience here and his process will be the better for it. I believe this was his first head coaching experience.

Naw, they're pretty easy to be a fan of. 

I'm all for it, I think he can be a great recruiter as well. He hopefully learned from his mistakes and can make this opportoony into something special.

Gators run a similar defense as the seattle system, Dan Quinn came from Florida, that would be a great fit, Gus would be very good with young college players

 

Some of you people dont realize there are some great OC/DC out there in college and the NFL that were terrible HC's, so I dont see why anybody would be laughing at this hire or upset about it, if your a Gator fan.

Gus is terrible

umm Gus helped develop those guys into the players they are today, Earl Thomas was the only one that was a 1st round pick, he may not be a good HC, but as a DC when he is only focused on defense he did a heck of a job.

Chancellor wasn't drafted high (maybe due to an unimpressive 40, or maybe not sure if projecting as SS or FS in the NFL) but he was certainly a stud at VT.  All he needed was the opportunity to play (which was given his second season by Milloy not being retained.)  His wasn't a case of being "coached up," just an opportunity to get on the field.

BAHAHA the Gators are not suffering at all! You have had multiple championships in the past 10 years! Try being a Purdue fan  

Gus is landing as a DC in the NFL, probably.

There was some weird rumor that Chip Kelly could take over for McElwain if he is still unemployed and McElwain can't get the offense turned around and is let go after next season.

 

 

The only idea I hate more than Gus Bradley being UFs coach is Chip Kelly.

I know he was highly successful at the college level... I just don't like the guy.

Which is the opposite of Bradley. I like the guy, and don't like the resume, per se.

Idk if Kelly can recruit Florida. We need a guy that can freaking recruit the state so we're not being beat in our own backyard by not just FSU, but Ohio State, Alabama, and LSU as well.

Accept the concept of being an NFL head coach and being a college defensive coordinator are completely different.

My brother, a die hard UF alum and fan who has given me so much crap the last 4 years about Gus is up in arms. Man, PLEASE make this hire UF.

 

On a side note, he has also bought into my Curse of Del Rio theory too based on what happened with Luke.
