Bitonio has my eye, because of his versatility. And we've coached him at the senior bowl.
He's possibly graded higher than the others, so being in the OT group he may slide to us depending on what position other teams need and where they've pegged him to possibly fill their needs (as an LT, RT, C, or G.)
Would love this
2. Marqise Lee
3. Gabe Jackson
4. Travis Swanson
Or use our 3rd and a 5th to move back into the 2nd to take Amaro

Agree. He would slide right in at Guard or push Pasztor inside and have him take over at RT. There were even rumors that some teams worked him out at Center as well.
I like Bitonio as well, but more as a guard than anything else. Drafting tackles to play center doesn't make a ton of sense to me.
Quote:Oakland yes but Cleveland doesnt have a huge need, they have the best young WR in the NFL and they signed Andrew Hawkins, but it is somewhere they can go
Gordon is great, but Hawkins hasn't done much and they have no one at all after that.

Well, we need a right guard too

Agreed, Pirk. Versatility with an OL, especially given the holes we have, should give him an added bonus. I would be happy to have him. He's a good potential RG or RT and both could be used here. I'm not as big a fan of others at sliding Pasztor back inside but if Gus and crew think that's the best combination I'm all for it. I sure hope Beadles is worth what they paid him. If he is, this OL isn't that far off (if a guy like Bitonio is added) from being a solid unit.
LT - Joeckel
LG - Beadles
C - Brewster/Rookie
RG - Pasztor/Bitonio
RT - Pasztor/Bitonio
Would anyone be for the Jags also adding Mettenberger?
Ya if he is there after round 5
Quote:Would anyone be for the Jags also adding Mettenberger?
I would say no earlier than 4th round, if they really like him

I don't want the Texans getting him. (and I want the Jags to draft 2 QB this draft, regardless)

No. In like the 6th round, sure, but otherwise it would be foolish IMO.

Nah. Too sluggish for my liking.

The guy is a statue. He won't cut it in the NFL.

only if he can be taken in the 5th or later. cant spend a pick too valuable on a qb when you already have your future sitting on the bench for a year just being drafted at 3 overall.

It does you think he can turn out to be the C you missed in FA.

I'd rather Murray (4th) or Thomas (5th) if they are still available, and not worry if we miss either by waiting.
Another interesting tidbit....
Dee Ford and Marcus Smith (especially Smith) were reaches in the 1st round... this may indicate that the drop-off from Ford and Smith to the other "edge rushers" is quite big.
Charlie Casserly seems to think that there aren't any passrushers worth a damn that are left.... I say that thinking about Attaochu and Lawrence, who many of us thought were legit passrushers that could fit the LEO position well.
Maybe they drop into the 3rd? Or maybe Casserly is just full of it?
^^^ I thought DEMarcus Lawrence was supposed to be really good...
That Eagles pick shocked me. Even the PLAYER admitted that he didn't expect to be drafted until the 2nd or 3rd round.
Even though i'm still a little sour about the Bortles pick, i'll live with it. Imo, we need to give him everychance to succeed. This team needs playmakers, hopefully a wr in the 2nd here and either a rb who slipped or an interior lineman in the 3rd. I wouldn't be opposed to another wr on day 3 even if we take one here in the 2nd.
