Quote:C'mon, don't you know the answer to that question is "For someone that talented, they will make it work".

With the ineptitude of the tinhorns coaching staff, i'm sure Crennel will put him in coverage.

How is the Texans' coaching staff inept?  Crennel was not a good head coach, but he's always had a great defense.  Nix was the missing key to make this defense work... to get him in the 3rd round was a absolute steal,  We'll have two guys that need to be double teamed with Clowney backing them up.

#can'tblockeverybody.   It was a wise decision to sit Bortles for a year though.

It's your fan base saying that.

O.K...  I guess I'm now the spokesperson for 5 million people..

What I mean is instead of defending your team here, you might as well start working on your own fans first.
Count me as one of those who was happy Minnesota leap frogged us. We've already got a guy who tore it up against lesser competition on the roster. Don't need another. & I'm tired of noodle armed QBs.

I know, I know... Teddy's arm is strong enough, more than strong enough. That's what people say when the guy has a noodle arm. If he doesn't have a rocket launcher for an arm, I'm not interested in spending a 1st round pick on him. Maybe a 2nd if he played well at a major program in a major conference.
Houston fans will eventually be celebrating the fact that they didn't get Bridgewater.  Let them stew over not getting the actual franchise QB in this draft in Bortles.  Wink Banana

That'd be sweat. Luck, Bortles, Savage, & Locker/Mettenberger...

Could turn into a pretty sweet division.

Thats what I am hoping for. The AFCS is a damn joke, would be nice to see it have a franchise QB in every corner.
Houston had a very solid draft. I am admittedly not a huge fan of Clowney, and think he won't live up to the hype. I do think he will be good though. He won't be the next Reggie White IMO. However Sua'Filo (sp) in the second is a huge pick, and the DT that they took is a steal as well.

Without the QB, they may not have all the pieces in place, but they got some solid talent, and had the Jags taken those same players, we would all probably be dancing in the streets.

I wanted Greg Robinson. But I was happy they didn't take a QB. I don't know what to think about Clowney... so far he seems like a nice enough guy, funny, & "smart" (for an athlete). He says all the right things in the media... so far, does all the right things at practice. I like that he's not a quite guy like Mario, more extroverted, less passive. Might turn into a leader on our defense (along with Watt & Cushing).

Su'a-Filo made the draft for me. I had been wanting to get rid of Wade Smith going on three years now. Making the Pro Bowl in 2012 was a joke. I had much rather had the best OG in the draft than the 8th best OT.

Nix... yeah, I wanted a big Gronk type TE, didn't even know about Fiedorowicz, I was thinking Niklas but he was already gone. I wasn't upset with the Fiedo pick (because I know I don't know as much about these players), but the scouting reports sounded like exactly what I was hoping for (not that I think he'll be Gronk, just that he adds that dimension to our offense, heck, I like Zach Potter so far). But to end up getting Nix anyway? The Texans knocked the draft out of the park.... imho.

The QB situation isn't pretty. I'm hoping OB starts Case Keenum. institutes the AirRaid offense. Playing the Jags twice a year, maybe he can recapture some of that UH magic.

That sure didn't help him out against us last year.

We weren't running the air-raid he was used to in college.
Carr Bomb is such a joke

forgot that NFL starters can only do well in their college system.
the air raid?  lol.  Don't hold your breath to see the team build around Keenum.

Maybe I should talk slower.

Hopefully installing Art Brile's Air Raid offense (the offense Case ran in college) and playing a college level team like the Jags twice a year will help Case to some of that success he had while he was in college.
art briles hasn't coached at Houston since 2007. Keenum had a diff head coach and a different offensive coordinator. He had little if anything to do with the system keenum finally ran.

also the air raid is a gimmicky offense in college similar to that style that puts up inflated stats for guys like colt Brennan or Timmy Chang. It has no place in the NFL and it wasn't the offense that let keenum down. He just wasn't good.

and what I was sarcastically implying, is that if you think case is an NFL quarterback, he should be able to adjust to any offensive scheme, instead of only having a chance of success in a particular college style offense.

The offense ran at UH when Keenum was there was heavily based on Briles' Air Raid, as was the offense ran by Johnny Manziel ran at A&M.

& I was sarcastically implying that the Jags is basically a college team (2013 sweep of the Texans not withstanding).
You really think the offense that keenum ran is the same offense manziel ran? I'm surprised you tinhorn fans can even navigate a website.
Quote:haha good read,,,, love to see houston in a little turmoil.... they are pretty b hurt... nice to see they have as many knee jerk fans in houston as we do he in jax
Every team has fans like that. Even the best teams.
