Quote:Why? Now we have to play Clowney twice a year when he ends up in Houston.

Yeah, but with Ryan Mallett as their QB.  Not Tom Brady in the same conference.
Mack is still a better fit for Houston (than Clowney) if they stay at one.

So you would rather worry about a team that if we play them, it would be in the playoffs? And not a team in our own division that will be playing next to JJ Watt?

Ummmm... Huh?

Sooo a better fit at one but a bad value at 3?  Ok dude, keep it up.
Manziel will be coming out to Drake "Draft Day" When he is picked per ESPN

After the upgrades on defense, get Manziel in the 1st, a big WR target in the 2nd (Robinson, Benjamin, Bryant), pair them with a workhourse RB like Gerhart, with big blocking TE's, and it's starting to make sense.  Like the article said, buitlding in the mold of Seattle, Manziel would be Bradley's Russell Wilson (or one of my favorite QB's who is also undersized, Drew Brees).

Manziel also fills the role of "Face of the Franchise", "Franchise QB" and gives us a star that we badly need.

I think it will be Watkins or Mack if we stary at #3, but if we trade down a little to gain some extra picks, and Manziel is still sitting there at #7 or #8, I would not be upset if Caldwell took him.

Yes.  If the Texans can't score, then it really won't matter much how good Clowney is.  And I doubt they'd be able to keep both Watt and Clowney when their contracts come up.  Especially since they'll be chasing a franchise QB still.

Would much rather not see the Patriots dominate the AFC with their HOF QB paired with Clowney for who knows how long.

I'd rather we draft Richburg or Swanson in the second round and get a WR in the third.
I had a dream we took Manziel at 3 a coupe nights ago

I hope this is a smokescreen because for any team employee to anonymously disclose to reporters real FO thinking, like this purported sentiment, should be investigated and then cured with a pink slip.

Bad value at either.

Where am I stating otherwise?
Quote:The Texans just traded for Ryan Mallett.

At minimum, that's one less team we will need to trade over to get a QB later in the first, should the Jaguars go with someone other than a QB at 3.

Hopefully, Mallet will not be the answer for them, and they spin their wheels as a franchise...contemptible bastards they are.

<p class="">From what I am gathering, Pats don't have anything going with the Texans on Mallett right now. We shall see

There have been no new reports indicating the trade has, or is going to happen.

I think we'll know more about Mallett -- if he's being traded or not, on Day 2.

Quote:If we don't take Bridgewater at 3, I'm going to guess he goes 4th - whether that be to Cleveland or another team trading to that spot.
I believe he is going to be a late first round pick.  In the 20's

Regardless of whether it happens or not, the idiocy of this whole thing is that such a trade will shelve the Jags for the next ten years, as has been predicted. I almost hope the Texans get Mullet so they are stuck with him.
