Khan is that dude! First time I ever herd of an owner doing this.
Quote:Man, I could do some serious damage in an hour.

I can too, if I'm drinking slow. Tongue

Quote:Imagine how much damage a hundred of you could do in an hour.
It might look like Jonestown, the next day.... :woot:
Khan is living the dream.

And he's making sure others enjoy the ride too.
I love the way the franchise embraces the fans. No other team in the league does this.

This is something fans from other markets really don't get.  The Jaguars do a great job of giving fans accessibility to the team.

A friend of mine was part of the sponsor luncheon yesterday.  He had an opportunity to meet Shad, and to talk to Gus.  They also got a ground view of the new video boards.  Pretty awesome access.
Mr. Lamping has opened the bar at many of the Fan Forums that the team has hosted. I can't claim to know what other franchises do for their fans but this regime we have are rock stars. My passion for the team grows daily even after 20 years.

I gotta agree, part of the draw to this team is the small town feel and how fans are able to interact with the people involved with the team. I hope to be one of those people someday. (part of the fans that enjoy those perks)

The only other team that perhaps does stuff like this is Green Bay, and thats just a guess.

In talking to someone in the organization this morning, little things like paying for drinks are just the tip of the iceberg.

The investment Khan is making in this city is about to take on a completely different level.  As much of a skeptic as I was in the beginning, I have no doubt that this team isn't going anywhere.  This guy has a vision that goes so far beyond just the NFL or the Jaguars that it's just incredible.  He's focused on so much more than just the team here in Jacksonville.

Agreed.  There was a time during the later years of the Weaver tenure where it was frustrating to be a Jags fan because you could see them cutting in areas that were not as visible to the football fan, but just as injurious to the organization.  That vibe has completely turned around in the span of 2 years, and as more info comes out about what Khan is doing not only for the team, but for this town, it's going to continue to grow.

All it will take is for the rubes that have been making decisions in this city to just get the hell out of the way and let this thing explode. Mr Khan is a true visionary that if allowed will transform this city.

For what he's planning, the rubes haven't dared to dip their toes into this project ever, so they sure as heck won't be getting in the way now.  They will be tripping over themselves to be a part of this thing once momentum starts to pick up.

I was there. The bar is the same place where a FB group called "Jaguars Fans in NYC" meet on Sundays to watch the game.  The manager treats us pretty kindly and had a whole upper tier section set aside for the Jags contingency. I got there a little late and ordered a drink downstairs before heading up and overheard some folks as I walked upstairs commenting on the Jags buying drinks.  Very nice gesture on top of what they did at the airport for theses guys. Our new regime engages its fanbase. Gotta love it.

Everyone was in fine form and excited about being the team with the LARGEST representation at the draft this year.  It really was surreal to see so many Jags fans in the city.  Great effort by the brigade.  I was inspired by their "draft takeover"  - so I signed up.   DUUUUUUUUUUUUVVVVVAAAAAAAALLLLLLL!!!

Nice to hear this from you.  Anytime you want to apologize for calling me an ostrich, I'll be open to it.   :teehee:   I kid. I get the skepticism, I just had a positive gut feeling on it at the time. Sure does look like he's for real about making it work in Jax, though.  Now, if we can just hit a couple home runs in the draft....

Great to hear!

I haven't had many moments to be proud as a Jags fan, but this is one of those times.

Glad you and everyone had a good time.
Cosign everything said. Khan and Co are them folks! We got it good.
Im so heated right now. I will be leaving out tomorrow to go to NYC for another job interview.

Does anybody know is if any of the BCB's will stay beyond the weekend, or is everyone coming back immediately after the draft?
