Gil Brandt said he thought it would happen.

Peter King posted an updated mock with Mack going first.

Are these guys getting played or could it happen?

I remember last year, alot of people thought there was no way Eric Fisher would go first.

Could the MAC go back to back on the first pick of the draft?

Wouldn't that be something.

He's a better fit for a 3-4 so maybe he will.

I hope so. Pushes the real talent lower.

Increases our chances of a trade down, too. (my hope)

If it does happen, I think Dave will try and trade with the Rams to get Clowney. St. Louis could pick up a pick from us and then turn around and trade down again.
Even though this has been gaining steam I still have to see it to believe anyone goes before Clowney.

I definitely think he could be the texans first round pick but i dont think he will go first overall. Some team will trade up and take Clowney if that is the case.

I could go #1, but we won't know until it happens.  HA but on a side note, He does fit their scheme better and look at what happens when you take someone and put them out of their natural position, you get people like ziggy hood and Alualu

Extra Two Weeks Syndrome.

Too much extra time to think about things, and a need to generate hits to their websites.

Nothing to see here.

I would NOT be happy if that happened. If Clowney falls to us, fine.

We are in no position to be giving away picks. If anything, its the reverse. We need MORE picks.

Stay at 3 or hopefully trade DOWN.

Nah, Clowney is worth it.
I highly doubt Caldwell trades up with St Loius but you meet know
Please let this happen.

It makes WAY more sense for them to pick Mack than the Jaguars.

Not if you get the Clowney from 2013, and thats the point.

If there was no 2013 on Clowney's resume, then perhaps an argument could be made for the Jags trading up to get him.

But since those questions about his work ehtic/ motivation are there, the Jags cannot afford to risk extra picks for this player. If he falls to us, great! No need to Gene Smith it, and have tunnel vision on one player for the first rounder.

The day of the luncheon, Dave said they would consider moving up and have even had discussions about moving up during their draft scenarios. The only player I could see them moving up for is Clowney. You do the math.

Ugh.....I hope, hope, hope Dave is smarter than this....

Smarter than to plan for EVERY possible contingency?

Yeah, we don't want a GM who is looking at every possible option.  He should just call the drive thru window at Mickey D's.
Wouldn't complain if he did. It'd guarantee that Clowney or Watkins were available at three. I also wouldn't complain if he didn't. Those three are, imo, the elite players in this draft.

Trading up early in a deep draft is foolish. Especially for a team in our position. The more picks the better.

Assuming a draft is "deep" before any of the players actually play on Sunday is pretty foolish as well....
