Quote:Forgot about that.  I hope he was well compensated with his golden parachute.

I bet McNair is mad he wasted all the money to guarantee Bridgewater
I've seen 3 articles now from Vikings news sources all saying Bridgewater would be the best fit. He won't make it past 8

The smart people realize this.

I'd be shocked if they prefer Bridgewater to Bortles.
Quote:But, they tanked for him, didn't they?

They tanked for the 1st overall pick. Yes I believed it would be used on Bridgewater, but the tanking was done to secure the top pick which affords you the most opportunities.
The Rams are a bit of a wild card. Who knows what they're going to do.

How confident are you that he doesn't slide past 8? Would you be willing to make a friendly wager?

Trade down.

The two best players are Clowney and Mack, and they don't need a pass rusher.

Now who their trading partner turns out to be is a mystery.

If they cant get a trade back I think they take Mack.  They would have a dominant front 7 if they added Mack.

It's better to have Tanked For Teddy and lost than to have tanked simply because we sucked and modestly called sucking Tanking For Teddy out of shame.

a one month sig bet?

The minute the last down was played in the regular season and the non-playoff draft order was set you can be sure that Clowney's representatives were already in touch with the Texans to assure them they'd be dance partners this year.

Read this for what it is:

I dare you to open the draft by selecting Johnny Manziel.

Lord knows, the Texans need some Johnny Football. The NFL is a passing league now, which is a reason Bill O'Brien is the new coach, and Manziel can sure sling it. He's the most exciting quarterback in the draft, a rock star with the added value of making Bob McNair's easy-to-ignore franchise matter on the national scene like it never has.

Sure, Manziel — not built as solidly as another short quarterback with whom he is compared, Russell Wilson — looks as though he can be snapped in half by one Gregg Williams-designed double blitz.

Clowney's people want the Texans to believe that it's their pick to negotiate and if the Texans do not obey, they'll be sorry.

The Rams and the Jaguars are buddies.

You'll be my go-to once Teddy is sitting there at pick 20 something.
