The Who were wrong. The kids are clearly not alright.

Personally, I'll be pretty peeved. He wouldn't even be one of the ones no one saw coming, like Wilson or Brees or Roethlisberger, or Rodgers. He would have been right there known to the world and we passed on him. Even if the player we got (Watkins or Mack) ends up being good, there's no replacing what a really good QB can do for your team, not to mention all the extra perks that comes with having Manziel. Yeah, I wouldn't be okay with it and would be disappointed that Caldwell was too scared to take him.
You could say the same thing about; Clowney, Mack, Watkins, Matthews, Robinson, Evans, Ebron, or a few others like Barr that all have the potential of being ProBowlers...   This is a deep draft, which really makes me think that Dave is going to trade down.

I kind of would prefer to see the flashy #3 guy but I expect a trade down is the most likely scenario the team needs to many positions.
Quote:I mean I like Johnny too, but i don't ever believe when someone starts this stuff of them being told what the team is going to do. You're acting like that one guy who was in love with Bridgewater and kept saying we would pick him at 3 no matter what. Don't even remember his name. I'm sure you guys that are on here more know who I'm talking about. Does he even post here still?

Wait.  You mean someone on a message board telling us how they're privy to what the Jaguars are actually going to do on draft day might simply be making things up?  There's a shocker!  That's never happened before.

I'm pretty sure the vast majority of those who post on this board would need to ask their parents or even grandparents who The Who is.
When the Who played the SB halftime show a friend's daughter said "who are these old guys and why are they playwthe theme to CSI?"

I remember about 10 years ago, The Who released an anthology. I saw it at Best Buy and the cover said "As featured on CSI".

Is CSI the new teenage wasteland?
I have an idea if not taking Manziel would upset you that much.

You can literally go off the side of the Everbank building.

Quote:Right. Trading up for Gabbert and Blackmon were clearly "base hits"
No. But they were made by a GM who's strategy was "base hits" centered. Gene didn't know how/when to swing for the fences. And Gabbert and Blackmon are proof. I don't expect Caldwell to trade up from 3 but he may take a swing on Manziel there.

No worries Vino, I'm not "that guy". I've got somewhere near 500 posts on here and never claimed anything of the sort. This was just something I was told less than a week ago.

And I do agree with what you said, I don't like those guys either. The difference though between me and those 'others guys' is that I've put my money where my mouth is, and it's not like I'm gonna drag you on and make you wait 4 months to see if I'm right. We've got three short days, and I've put my forum-spot on the line with FBT. Not out of cockiness or even confidence, but just honesty with what I've heard.

Don't give up on me yet Vino. Give me 3 days.
Nobody can guarantee picking someone other than Houston. They have the only spot where their choice is guaranteed. Say we want Manziel. Who's to say that Houston doesn't trade back with Cleveland, Minnesota, Tampa, Dallas, and even now St Louis to take him. We are not guaranteed to take him. If he is there, I'm slowly thinking we might. I was listening to Dave talk at the luncheon thing and I tried to listen between the words and my gut thinks that's where they want to go. No facts here, just gut feeling. But he may not be there to pick at #3. Who knows. All I know is that we will get a good player and this draft could be one of the more exciting one's we've had in some time!

GO JAGS!!

If he pans out... and we don't find a QB, I'd be disappointed.  But no more so than if we pass on any other QB in the draft and they go on to pan out, while we don't get a QB (or worse, we get one that doesn't pan out)

That sentence uses the word 'pans' a lot.
