Quote:Well, the good news is, Pro Bowlers get an all expense paid trip to sunny ORLANDO. Much better than Hawaii.
Duh... Disney?
Fans voting = Loss of integrity in the process of selection = crappiest game on the planet. As stated above, they can lose the pro bowl no one would care in the slightest. Most of all the players. The only reason for them to attend was a free trip to Hawaii for their families and now that's gone.

Seattle South

Let's be real here... this shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone.

Offense - Not a single player on that side of the ball did anything to warrant going to the Pro Bowl.  Period.

Defense:

Telvin Smith played fantastically all season.  As previously mentioned, however, 4-3 OLBs don't make it because they don't have the Sacks.  They aren't as flashy.

Our Defensive Tackles played well, but no one really racked up the stats to compete with someone like Geno Atkins.

Yannik did well for a rookie, but not close to Pro Bowl  numbers.

Ramsey, arguably the best case, has only one INT.  While the tape doesn't lie, and the kid's going to be All Pro very very soon, it's hard to make the Pro Bowl at CB with only 1 pick.  Numbers matter.

Add in small market and 2-12 and well.. yeah.

Nortman I could have seen, and actually Benn as well for Special Teams.

Cases could have been made for a few guys, but not strong enough cases to bump other players who did make it.

I am, once again, Jack's complete lack of surprise.  It's impossible to say any Jaguars player got snubbed this year.

Skuta got snubbed.

Alualu as well.
Poz Island did not get selected?

Who's going to cover Odell Beckham in that game?   It appears they really didn't think this thing through.

Disrespected since the got into the NFL.  I think the curse of Tim Tebow (not coming to Jax) has kept voters from selecting Alualu to the pro bowl and potentially the hall of fame.   I rank this right up there with the silent shun of Barry Bonds.
Ramsey and Nortman were snubbed.

Not that surprising. The Jags went 11-5 in 2007 and only had 1 player in the pro bowl. Fred Taylor. And I'm pretty sure he was an alternate despite rushing for over 1200 yards.
I think there's an argument to be made for Linder.  He's switched positions and still is a stud.

Yeah, Linder, and Beachum for that matter, did a fantastic job all year up front. It's Linder's first season at Center and he's already in that top tier.

Beachum was ok. Fantastic is a word I wouldnt use in the same breath as any of the Jags offensive (players) lineman. Linder is above average, and everyone else is replaceable imo. I'd only go with Beachum in 2017 if there's no clear upgrade, which seems like that will be the case this offseason.

You are a mod but do you watch the games? Do you pay attention?

Yes Linder is our best Olinemen, but he missed a few games this season. Doesn't have the notoriety around the league... but in this case maybe.

Beachum, has been decent pass blocking, but his run blocking has been awful. He doesn't have all the strength in his leg yet. You cannot say FANTASTIC.

Ugly girl in a beauty contest.
I've seen Linder whiff a number of times this year, not saying he's bad, but he hasn't been a complete stud either.

Ramsey and Telvin only.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the NFL is a joke when it comes to the jags.

Also....

remember last year, ARob wouldnt have made it if others wouldnt have dropped out. i think it was Megatron. I could be wrong. But Arob was an alternate.

Nobody on the OL has stood out run blocking so you almost can't grade them there. That said, as a pass blocker Beachum has been fantastic even against some of the league's most feared pass rushers. It's not like fantastic means elite.

Ramsey isn't even close guys. He's allowing a very high percentage of passes his way to be completed and for over 100 passer rating, and he only has one interception.

I agree that he is showing the potential that he is going to be a pro bowler down the road, but far from it this year. Which is fine, he's a rookie having to take on the toughest matchup every game. Just be patient.

What does the 2016 Jags and the pro bowl have in common?

Both are irrelevant
