Quote:Yeah, gets sacked too much and reminds me of Leftwich with his slow movements. He's also not really a consistently accurate passer. He's got a big arm, but lacks consistency, always has.

Wait, then why do you like Mallet so much?

The above description sounds like a Mallet bio.
Quote:I figured fast food employee but fbt relegated you yo nothing more than a fry cook, the logic is solid so I wont argue with him.

I like how every player has to remind you of a failed jaguars player. I've seen glennon make a lot of strikes on roll outs. What he had to work with wasn't great and he played fairly well. Mallett is worth a 3 but glennon = poop. Glennon has done exponentially more in this league than mallett. Speaking of slow and inaccurate, your coke head man crush in new England fits that mold to a T.

Mallett was better than Glennon and played vs better defense week in week out. Glennon was an ACC guy, lolz, and still paled.

All Mallett needs is an opportunity and he'll do everything giraffe is doing, and more.

but don't you think if that was the case the pats would want to keep him ?

They still might. People have speculated that the Pats are antsy to deal him. Until that actually happens, then its just talk.

Who has speculated that?  This is the first I'd seen anything of the sorts.  Everything I've seen is saying he has little to no trade value and wouldn't garner a pick as high as he was selected.
What I said in the other thread:

Quote:I'd take Glennon for a 4th or 5th in a heartbeat. He's already shown he could play in this league. At the absolute bare minimum you'd have yourself a young, high quality backup who would easily push Henne as the starter.
Glennon has a lot of potential. Just hope that he can step it off a notch.

That makes no sense as it pertains to THE NFL. But that's never stopped you before.

Really, a young QB lacks consistency, and he becomes automatically garbage? That is a ridiculous standard. Being in Orlando I got to see a decent amount of Glennon, I would say if Tampa doesn't like him, give him to the Jags. He is definitely way better than Gabbert and has shown ability. Hes skinny, but he does have the height and can make the throws, and performed pretty well last year overall as a manager. I think his ceiling could be higher. Worth a shot for a late pick IMO, with no question at all. Anything 4th and lower is a steal.

This I 100% agree with having watched more than a couple *NFL* games with him. The guy is at least a good back-up and could be more. If Lovie wants to be dumb and play just for tomorrow I would take him off of Lovies hands in a heartbeat for a 4th.

I hope he steps it off too.

By that theory J. Russell (any gator QB) is better than Ben, Aaron, Brees, Brady, RIvers, Cutler, Wilson, Luck, RG3

I will take glennon for a 4th any day. To many people like the thrill of what could be rather than going for what is. He started 13 games played well for a rookie. You never know what your going to get with a draft pick it could be Brady or it could Young.

Mallett blew what should have been a big win against Alabama his final year in college.  That's always stood out to me as being his defining moment.  The truth is, he's nothing special.  He's along for the ride.  His team made him look better and not the other way around.  He's the opposite of McCarron.  Mallet got all the credit when it wasn't really deserved, where McCarron doesn't get his fair share.  But McCarron rose to the occasion where Mallet shrank.

In the NFL, Glennon has taken on more responsibility and has done a respectable job.  If Mallet had done the same, he'd be on someone else's roster starting by now.  Glennon accomplished that his rookie season.  And Mallet... he's likely to be just another NE cast off when all is said and done.
^ exactly. Mallet is overrated and if he was any good you think teams would be trying to snare him away. Glennon on the other hand while he has his flaws has a ton of potential.
As for Glennon's consistency he had 7 games were he threw more TDs then Ints.. Not bad for a guy that's inconsistent.

Mallett isn't overrated.  It might seem like it, because TMD posts about him a lot.  But most people don't want anything to do with a guy who's thrown less than 5 passes after being in the NFL for 3 years.

I mean overated in the sense that he dosent have nearly the value some people here seem to think he has.
Bucs reporting now that they turned down six offers for trading Glennon (and obviously turned them all down.)

They now are calling Glennon their "QB of the future."

"Buccaneers now sold on Mike Glennon as long-term QB"

IMO, it never made any sense to have handled the situation the way they did.

Either they're way behind on their assessments (which I would think a new staff would want to do day one,) or they are using the "we didn't evaluate him until now" excuse for playing a smokescreen prior to the draft.

No matter which, makes them seem a bit inept, IMO.  I understand pushing a player and the importance of having a veteran QB on the roster, but the way the new regime has approached Glennon this offseason seemed premature, at best questionable, and at worst incompetent re: having a plan for the QB position.

Sounds like the Bucs are attempting damage control....lol

I hate that franchise. I hope they move. Sadly, it seems that more than a few posters on this board might be upset if that happens.
