7 days until the draft. Here is a list of the best 7th rounders in Jaguars history. Who do you think is the best. Will post the same for the other rounds over the next few days.

Excellent topic idea!

I'll offer two names for best Seventh Round selection; Rob Meier ('00) and Bobby McCray ('04).

It is kind of fun to look back at some of the old drafts. I gotta go with Meier.

Jennings pro-bly

McCray seemed good for a little while, then vanished.

It's between Meier and McCray

I think Meier is probably the best 7th rounder we ever landed.  The guy parlayed a 7th round pick into a 9 year career with the Jags.

Solid, but not overwhelming statistically, but he did enough to stick around for a long time.

Oh, I didn't realize we're talking players that had to stay with the Jags.

In that case, Meier. easily.

If its just best player at their position we drafted in the 7th its Jennings/ McCray.

I never really thought Meier was all that good, but he wouldn't kill ya.

Jennings' season with the Raiders impressed you that much?

Not just me, but apparently Coughlin/ Reese. He starts for them now.

Jennings impressed me as a Jaguar, too.

you hated jennings. i remember numerous threads where you bashed jennings and said that we were crazy for thinking he was any good.
Its Rob Meier by a mile.  Quality of play plus longevity makes him a no brainer.  If you wanted to include 5th and 6th rounders, I'd argue he is top 4 along with Josh Scobee, Gerald Sensabaugh, and Damion Shelton.

Long term if Jennings can build off his last season and have continued success, I think you could bring him into the argument.  Right now I'd have him behind Danny Clark and Marlon McCree.  Both of whom had multiple solid years with teams beyond their Jags career.

Jennings had his chance in Jacksonville and feel on his face.

Oh, ok, cite ONE of them.

I just find it odd that you chose him while he did next to nothing for us, and he had an average season for another team.

Peyton Hillis was starting for the Giants too.  They're desperate for anybody right now.

That's right. Meier easily.

The Giants just gave Jennings a nice shiny free agent contract to start.

Good for him.  I don't see how that makes him our best 7th rounder ever.

His skill does. He's the best at his position of any of our 7th rounders, IMNSHO

Eh..... He got a 4 year deal with only $3M guaranteed.  Thats a pretty low risk, high reward contract for the Giants.  Not sure I would call that starter money.  One bad season and the Giants can cut him with no penalty.

Nine seasons, 138 out of 144 possible games played, 21.5 sacks, 176 tackles. Not a bad career for a Seventh Round guy.
