My wife's company was one of the sponsors, and they were quite pleased with the bands that participated. It sounds like things went really well aside from not having some ancient metal bands that would satisfy a glittery barstool diva.
Quote:Well, thats refreshing to hear. I expected you to bash the Cult because they don't growl like the rest of them.
I am assuming they did FireWoman, & Sanctuary right? How about Coming Down?
Along with many others. They earned a very enviable spot in the line-up. The promoters did a fantastic job with the scheduling and stage arrangements.

Sorry dude, but I find it very difficult to believe that YOU are a fan of the growling vocal new metal bands.
Quote:Hey hey hey hey hey.. What did 80's fantasy land ever do to you? I'm there often..
Me too... Rick Springfield and Duran Duran keep me company!! :woot:

How were the Cult received otherwise?....I 'll bet a lot of the younger kids were like...."they suck" what are they doing there... right?

Once again, putting on a clinic in what happens when you drop out of school. Reading comprehension skills fail miserably.

Do the wild boys make you hungry like a wolf so much that you do the reflex while watching view to a kill?

This is a METAL themed thread!!!!!
John Taylor is one of the best bassists around, though. Truth.

My r-comprehension is fine, was just processing your inferences.
Point blank - do you like the "growling" bands?

Not one bit. That wasn't the point of my post, but your struggle to understand the words you're reading let you down once again. My opinion on the bands is completely irrelevant to my post, but you're just not smart enough to realize this.
You jumped into this thread to tell everyone how smart you are, and how your musical preferences are better than the rest. Nobody cares what you think on the matter. It was a successful music fest over the weekend regardless of what you thought of the bands performing. You've got nothing at all to offer to this discussion, so why are you even here?

You mean this isn't the TMD opinion thread like all the others?

Nah. She was too busy hanging with Jessie's girl.

He's certainly trying to make it one.
You should have seen Mayor Brown out there. It was like he was speaking directly to the millionaires across the river that raise all the hell about any show that ain't jazz and Jags games disturbing their peace. It was at about 3:00 in the afternoon and he takes the mic and just starts pumping up the crowd, talking about how he's going to make sure that Rockville and other large concerts continues to happen every year, go Jags all kind of stuff. He certainly can touch a audience. it was cool to see. He had thousands of people screaming that they were "Down with Brown".

Your opinion on the type of music I was asking about. You're just tap dancing because you don't want to come right out and asnwer that you - too, think growling metal is lame. You're older than me, and probably instead like metal bands like the ones I mentioned earlier.
I jumped into the thread to give an opinion. JUst like Tommy jumped into my Heyward thread to give his opinion on baseball. He gave some wrong info in that thread, but he's still allowed to give it. Opinions, FBT. I didn't realize this was just supposed to be a cheerleading thread for all 40 bands and that negative opinions were not allowed in it.
Maybe it was successful. Thats good - for the local economy anyway.

I wasn't paying attention to what others were saying but I'm sure there were plenty of kids that didn't enjoy it to much, but there seemed to be about 15000 that did. I was really surprised by the age diversity that was present. If I had to guess an average I would put it at 30 or so.

As much as I am not a fan of some of those acts, the concept of this type of concert is great.
Back in the day we used to have the "Monsters of rock" with Van Halen/ Metallica/ Dokken....et al) but it topped out with like 7 or 8 bands, so it obviously wasn't of this magnitude.

"30" as in years old for an average?
ABout how many total people do you think were present?

It was sold out Sunday and I heard the capacity was limited to 20000, Saturday I would esitmate probably close to 85% of that. There was a lot of people there.

Where do they have this - at the baseball stadium or something?
Most important question......how much were they gouging people for beers?
