Louis Riddick had a couple of tweets a few days ago about where he'd rank a #1 dt and a fullback on level of importance on a football team. This led me to the idea of trying to rank the top 10 positions in the jaguars system and who we should draft. In my opinion it breaks down like this:
1. Qb- Henne. I don't hate him but he's not the future.
2. Lt- Joeckel. Going to be a stud.
3. Leo- Clemons. Good player.
4. Tight end- Lewis. Needs to be replaced/cut.
5. Free safety- Evans/Guy. Neither the ball hawk that this team needs.
6. 5 tech- Red Bryant. Stud.
7.Wr 1- Blackmon? Top 5 potential but needs to get his head straight.
8. 3 tech or ldt- Marks. Stud.
9. Cb 1- Gratz? Maybe our future #1.
10. Rt- Pazstor. Pretty good last year. Maybe the future.
With the draft coming up I'd like for our first two rounds to address two of the most important positions in the Leo and the Tight end. Khalil mack in round 1 and Jace Amaro in round 2 would have to be a dream scenario for me. I'm a big fan of versatility and having Mack in our defense would be a perfect fit. Mack would not only play Leo but also a bit at sam IMO. Another versatile player is Jace Amaro. Amaro is a decent blocker but he is a legit threat down the field with good hands and above average athleticism for a te. I haven't heard much chatter about us drafting a tight end but I definitely wouldn't mind us drafting two.
