Sorry, I'm sure this has beat to death, but tomorrow I'm getting a new carrier, and new phone. I have a iPad so I'm thinking iPhone. But I currently have aN Android phone now and like it as well.

Is this a Chevy vs Ford issue, or is there a more leaning one way opinion. Or is there another that I didn't mention..HTC?

Thanks again.
I have an Iphone but I like the android platform better, maybe it's a bit of grass is greener on the other side for me?

I love my iPad and iMac. However when it comes to phones, I am a verizon man. AT&T's service never performed up to par. My wife and step son both have the S4 and love it. However, the only issue she is having is the phone for whatever reason won't hook up with her car anymore. We've tried and tried and it seems like it is the phones fault not the car.

I'm pretty sure the S5 is out now, so you may want to look into that.

My dad is an iPhone guy, aside from his phone not taking phone calls he loves it.

Hope this helps. Fwiw, I think it is a ford/chevy thing. Both are great. Just depends on which side of the tracks you grew up on.
I prefer Android over iOS for the same reason I prefer PC over Mac; costumizability. I can do anything I want with my S4, with the iPhone you're locked into exactly what Apple is willing to allow you to do with it. Plug an iPhone into a computer and you can't even load any files onto without using iTunes whereas my Galaxy S4 behaves almost as if it's a USB stick drive.

I kinda can't wait until iPhone goes down in flames. Idk why. Love their other stuff. Kinda sick of their phones being everywhere with such a crappy provider.

Edit: yes I know iPhone is available for other providers. But it isn't as good as a phone on the att network.

Meh. That doesn't so much for me. You can host whatever you want online via google docs, etc. And there is plenty of Asian tentacle pron on the internet, you don't have to download it to your phone.

I've played around with both and I always go back to the iPhone. It's limited, but also streamlined. There's a whole bunch of absolutely worthless bloatware on the android phones.

I don't know about American carriers but the carrier for my iPhone would also put a bunch of unremovable bloatware on my iPhone. At least with Android I could root the phone and delete all the crap. No such option with the iPhone unless you're willing to void your warranty.

Did you mean Galaxy 5? The 4 is so last year.

I know, right? Jeez. Maybe he'll decide to go ahead and pull the trigger on a DVD player too.
I have an Iphone 5 and my main complaint is that it constantly needs recharging.   Two and three times a day.

I got the droid maxx. I charge mine about twice weekly. Maybe three times a week if I really use it heavy.

I forget the last time I charged it most of the time.

Man...google some tips on what to turn off that's running in the background of the phone. A lot of that stuff are battery killers!!

Yeah, on my old phone I had an app killer that killed all unnecessary apps and shut down 4g upon locking my screen. Worked great. With my new phone the battery is so good I don't even care what's running.

No friggin way. 2 times a week?

In regards to the OP I have the S4 and I love it. It does everything I need it to do and have had no issues whatsoever. Im pretty heavy when it comes to internet browsing though and a full charge will get me thru the workday. After that its tome to plug it in.

Yes twice a week. Sometimes three. I will say this though, I'm not on Facebook, Twitter, or any of that other stuff. I'm mainly a phone call guy, text and music person. I'd imagine the average user could go 2 days with the maxx. You surly won't be charging it daily. The downside is, it takes 4 hours to charge that beast. So charge it before 6 pm or your leaving it on the charger all night, thus ruining your battery.

Edit: just checked my phone. Battery has 44hrs on it (while on) and I have 40% battery keft.

I've got the 5 and I use the hell out of it! Just about everyone I talk to has an iPhone so iMessage comes in very handy for me!!

No. I can get the 4 a lot cheaper, and unless there's some overwhelming difference in the two, it will serve its purpose.

After I order my Lageman jersey and Cheap Trick Live at Budokan cassette.

Take this for what it's worth, but, my wife is convinced that the providers mess with the phones after a while. Seems odd that mour phones work great until our contract is up and time to renew. So maybe the new S4 are great for you with the S5 being available. Maybe it is just in our heads that the phones go kaput after a year and a half.
