Gene Smith was a plant initiated by the NFL?
MJD is the only player that I can remember saying something about the misinformation and lack of respect by national media. Winning cures everything but it would be nice if the journalists actually did research and seen that Jags havent had a blackout since 2008, aren't last in league in ticket sales and have an owner with no intentions of moving the team
Grab your tin foil hats, bigfoot repellent, etc...

Quote:Crap like this needs to be discussed at a level much higher than twitter and message boards. This needs to be addressed by Mr. Lamping and Mr. Khan at the league meetings and with (God)ell.

Now I know some of you are of the opinion that it shouldn't bother us or does not really mean anything but I'll argue otherwise. For years this has been happening and there is no doubt in my mind that it has had serious consequences on the perception of our team, nationally and locally. sometimes it stems from our own local media as well. With the knowledge that perception can quickly become reality  this incessant dogging of our team must stop.

I implore all Jags fans that can,in a business like manner, to fight these wrong and uninformed folks when they see this stuff. Social media is a powerful tool when utilized correctly. Let them hear you.

Don't take my above opinion to mean that all I want to see is a rosy outlook, just the informed truth will do, whether or not that truth be flattering or negative.
Maybe, just maybe, they don't see it as all that important. Maybe they're too busy with running a billion dollar franchise to worry about what every last yahoo writes about them.

After all, this carrying on all the time is tantamount to paranoia.

Like the old saying goes. Opinions are just like butts. Everyone has one, and they all stink. The smart ones stop bending over to sniff once they catch a hint of an odor.....
Quote:When he's made no secret of wanting a team in LA or London?? Yes, the commissioner would lose zero sleep over undermining the Jaguars chances of succeeding while in Jacksonville. The quicker for him to ultimately get what he really wants.

Nope

Planted by the Jovian Syndicate

They figured that the ony way they will get a team on Jupter was to sabotage the smallest market team.

Fortunately Quato was able to implant his Mutants in the form of Khan, Lamping,Caldwell and Bradley.

I mean seriously look at that stache and that dome and tell me their not Mutants.

Prof. Charles Xavier is a business consultant and then there is the Mystique factor with the Roar.

Just postulating.

Well at least you identified yourself, I mean as one of the folks that are of the opinion that uninformed and inaccurate reporting and remarks can't seriously damage a brand name and perception. Maybe, just maybe if they are not worried about it they damn sure ought to be. This would seem to be one of the subjects that needs to be addressed while running that billion dollar franchise. The jags are spending enormous quantities of cash trying to fill the stadium and there are still these bozos with their sloppy journalism. It is counter intuitive to what the Jags are trying to accomplish.

I guess we can't count on you to crank out a corrective tweet or email to these clowns when you see this type of sloppy reporting, that's o.k. dude I'll send two and you can continue to feign your passion for the team.

You've got to keep it fresh in order for the tinfoil hats to be effective.
That's awful.  As a Browns fan I can sympathize.  It's getting me all riled up.  It's very irritating the way the national sports media treats the "smaller" markets.

The national sports media has a very big market focus, and always has, and it's fairly understandable.  The big markets provide the ratings and the money that keeps these media folks in business.  The further down the list a media market is, the less influence it's going to have in how stories are framed. When you're at or near the bottom of that list the way the Jags are, there's a complete disregard for accurate reporting.  One outlet may go out and research a story, and the rest of the hacks just jump on that bandwagon to save time.  In the end, we see lousy reporting and misinformation about this franchise based on impressions generated several years ago.

It's something we should be used to by now, but it still amazes me just how little effort some in the media put into reporting on this team.

Winning cures all. If we finish out at .500 this year and leave a couple of good teams holding their bloody mouths, NFL office punks will look elsewhere for a target.

That is all.
We're Rocky Balboa....

Good analogy. We've been on the skids for awhile but Burgess Meredith (Dave and Gus) are going to pull us up. Time to drink some raw eggs and pound on a side of beef. Forget what the world thinks, we have work to do.

Clearly you don't watch "Finding Bigfoot" on animal planet.

They have found convincing evidence.  They regularly hear twigs snap and howls in the distance... explain that.

So pathetic.
