Quote:With the broncos fumbling inside the Jaguars 10 yard line and throwing a pick six.
The Broncos were never in serious danger of losing that game.
It's cute that you think the score at halftime meant anything.
The Jaguars didn't have adequate talent to finish the job, but it's pretty disingenuous to say that they didn't give Denver more than they expected on that particular day. That game raised a lot of eyebrows around the league, and the blueprint established by the Jaguars was executed by a much more talented team several weeks later, and the Broncos were completely embarrassed in that game.

That's like saying Oh seattle won the SB because they threw some picks and fumbled some balls.. Denver should have won.
Quote:Take your sarcasm elsewhere, everybody in the media and i'm sure some fans think our team as a whole is completely untalented and it's just untrue, we have talent on defense but their stats look bad because our offense gives the ball away so often. Our defense was actually pretty good last year aside from the game against the Browns where Gordon went off.
It's a joke, dude. Unbunch those panties and laugh it off.

Even if we got an above average QB who could give us 22-25 TDs in a season I honestly think we could content for a playoff spot this year, yeah the team is extremely young but the fact that we even won 4 games with that pittiful play at the QB position speaks volumes about the rest of our team. And yes I considered 22-25 TDs average, I know we're used to 10-15 TD passes per year but trust me, that number is not even close to what the majority of teams put up.
Not if we're playing from behind and throwing like crazy. Not many QB can be successfully. I don't think Peyton Manning will have much success and last half season.
At this stage, we need a QB who can escape pressure and make play outside the pocket. I cannot count more than 5 QB right now.

lol....uh, no,....our defense was not good last year and it isn't only because the offense gives the ball away so often. They gave up 450 points. Thats about 28 per game on average.
We have zero ball hawks in the secondary and the pass rush was at the bottom of the league again. They can stop the run a little bit, but overall the defense indeed was just as bad as it seemed. Its probably improved somewhat with the offseason additions, but I"m not expecting miracles. Theres still no ball hawk on the defense and theres really only a limited amounts in the draft (Gilbert, Desir being a few)
The whole team was bad last year, offensively and defensively. You can't sit here and tell me that this side of the ball, or that side of the ball looked good after we finished 3 - 13. Our team is very young, we just recently added some oldheads on defense and that's about it. It takes time. Good teams aren't built over night.
We may have a ballhawker on our roster now. Cyprien and Evans with a year out of the way could develop really well during their sophmore runs. We still need a pass rusher though. That's the biggest variable in anybody being a ballhawk in this secondary.

Neither Cyprien nor Evans were ball hawks in college, so I wouldn't count on them just developing this ability out of nowhere. Cyprien is more of a Darius-like box Safety anyway....he and Evans will get the occasional pick, I'm sure...but you'll never see either one of them be the type of INT machine that we need in the secondary - think Mathis/ Earl Thomas/ Jairus Byrd/ etc etc.
this again, huh, tmd? You should just be a Seahawks fan. Would be perfect for you since you have a crush on earl Thomas and they just won a superbowl. You could ride that bandwagon and can't really complain too much because there isn't really much room for improvement.

Gratz has the tools to be one of those guys. Just watch him play. Who gives a crap what he did in college? He's starting his second year and showed some serious potential in his limited play. Of course you can't
count on anything from a bunch of 2nd year guys and a handful of utility players - but the kid just might become that broken record you keep spinning.
Also - as much as I love DD - I think Cyprien will be significantly better. I'm excited to see what these two get done with a little more pass rush. I don't expect pro bowl performances - but I think they'll exceed your expectations.
tmd is just trolling and running his anti jaguars spin doctor agenda full force. Talks about how neither gratz or cyp were ballhawks in college. But talks about how shorts can be replaced by guys like mike brown who didn't do anything in college because he played QB. He just throws garbage at the wall. Whenever it works towards his benefit he uses it and then runs the double standard as a negative when he wants to bash a player, a lot like he has been doing with Mack lately.
Mack: Overhyped, small school, no competition, not real stats.
mike brown: Small school, no stats at all, no competition.
based on that information: Mack bad. Brown good.

Our defense forced A LOT of turnovers last year, that's the most important stat.

12th in the AFC in turnover ratio. 23 NFL teams forced more turnovers than the Jags last year.
Don't get me wrong - I think this defense is going to make strides in 2014 - but let's not sugarcoat reality. Lack of a real pass rush and a steep rookie learning curve in the secondary really hurt them in most of the games last season. And they did not force A LOT of turnovers.

Addition of Chris Clemmons give us a legitimate pass rush.
Also on the turnover point I meant to say towards the end of the season..
Quote:Henne's not as terrible
as people make him out to be. He's not a guy that you'd want starting long-term, but I think that he'll surprise a few people if he's behind a competent OL with a credible running game to key off of. He's not a 30 TD, 10 INT Pro Bowl guy, nor will he ever be, but 20 TD against 14 INTs is something I could see him doing next year, and that might be enough to push for 8-8.
You lost me right after those words.

What part of still losing at halftime after getting a freebie TD on a pick-six and having the Broncos fumble the ball when they were about to score do you not get?
What's really disingenuous is to imply that the Jaguars were competitive in the game. Was the score deceptively close at halftime? Yes, it was. However, watching what actually happened it was clear that the Broncos would have to give the game away, the Jaguars had no chance of taking it.

You're stretching.

Double digit sacks for 3 straight years prior to his injury.. if he's healthy, he'll be a baller. And if they throw in Babin on the other side occasionally on 3rd down you'll see some improvement from him too.

MJD lead the league in rushing prior to his injury.
Think he'll do it ever again?
Clemons is getting older. Whatever we get will be gravy, but don't expect double digits. I expect him to contribute to an improved pass rush and add 6-8, but I'm not expecting miracles.
