Someone opining on a coach being bad after one year is not having insight, FYI. Anyone who said this ended up being right by chance and the percentages, not based on anything Gus did in year one with a roster full of college seniors basically and not based on anyones football acumen, sorry.

From anyone who still does not believe me when I say there is zero chance Jon Gruden will go back to coaching, here is an official report with his own words:

JW, we've said this over and over again to you.....just because someone says it, that does not make it true.  When it comes to the world of million dollar contracts what someone says means very little.  It all has to do with negotiating power.  Every time there is a rumor that Gruden could come and coach in the NFL, ESPN gets worried and re ups his contract.  It's happened numerous times over the years.

When Nick Saban was head coach for the Dolphins he said he would not be the head coach at Alabama, and 10 years later...to the day, look where we are now.

With that said, Jon Gruden is a decent coach, but he won a Super Bowl with another guys players and talent.  After that one year it was all downhill.  I don't think he'd get lightning in a bottle here like he did in Tampa that one year.  Pass.

Jon Gruden has said it several times early in multiple coaching cycles. You aren't convincing me a guy who does that is not serious about staying at ESPN.
My god, you wonder why people are rude to you.  I just tried to help you and was nice about it...and you didn't listen to one word of it.  I even gave you a freaking example.

Nick Saban's own words:

Quote:So on Thursday, Saban -- who has tried to denounce the story about him potentially going to Alabama numerous times in recent weeks -- again, and adamantly, denied that he's headed back to the college ranks.

"I guess I have to say it," Saban said. "I'm not going to be the Alabama coach."

In regards to your article you posted, you seem to miss where Gruden leaves himself an out just in case an attractive position comes open:

Quote: But right now, I have no intention of coaching.
Everything isn't always black and white.

With her it's either bricks or mush.
Gruden is getting paid like 7 mil a year to sit in a booth once a week and talk about football, why would he ever want to come back?  He has his ring.

Im not on the Gruden as HC team, I also dont believe hes as great of a HC as some say he is. However I dont think he really plans to leave MNF any time soon.

How,can u people say No to a Superbowl winning coach and a offensive guru? Wolf your dad is right Gruden would be great here... He might be one of the rare few that can help Bortles... I know he would do a Damn better job then Gus and would lead this team to at least the playoffs where they belong...

I'm guessing you wouldn't feel the same way about Brian Billick.  Both SB winners from the offensive side of the ball.  Both won their SB relying almost exclusively on their defense. Both with largely mediocre offensive production in Tampa/Baltimore.  Both have been out of coaching from roughly the same amount of time (Billick one more season).  Billick even has a better W/L% in the regular season and playoffs.  Yet everyone clamors for Gruden but no one wants Billick.

Note: this is in no way, shape or form an endorsement for Billick.  I don't want either one near this team, just kind of thought it was funny how similar their coaching resume is, yet their reputation among fans seems to be so much different.
i forgot about him.  I think a lot have since the  Harbugh bowl.

Listening to Jon Gruden I get the impression he's itching for another opportunity. I only wonder with him being in the broadcaster's booth if the game itself has passed him by. I don't know that it has, but it would be the same concern I'd have over possibly signing Bill Cowher, only I don't sense that Cowher is itching to get back into it.

Brian Billick. would be bad for jags. this morning on nfl network  he said no team has never won againest same team 3 times. in same season  thats not true. 99 titians did it to jags. if a hc doesn't know that he shouldn't be the HC.
