Maybe you were, but this sort of thing happened all the time back in previous decades with 12 year olds, we just didn't hear about it because there wasn't as much media/ social media....

Wasn't talking about the medieval times....average lifespan in medieval times was also what? - practically half of what it has reached in the last 50 years? Theres no good reason for 12 year olds to be sexually active in this day and age. They're just kids with more than 4/5 of their life to go, (average)

In my opinion, sex is becoming more popular with the younger generation because it's starting to become more accepted in the mass media. How many of the popular TV programs that currently air on TV involve gratuitous sex? Probably a good handful of them. What about MTV and music videos? How many videos portray sex acts within them now? Twerking and grinding? I mean, it's all over the place and it's really hard for kids to ignore when a lot of the sex is aimed at them.. Not saying that all of the above I mentioned is wrong, just saying its not for our younger generation.

Do you ever step out of your insular bubble long enough to consider that, with all of the media coverage by both social and conventional outlets of even the most insignificant matters, if behavior like this was rampant we'd hear or read stories like this more often?
When I was in the 6th grade there were a few of my classmates that were sexually active. You don't have to go that far back in this country's history to find a time where pre-teen or early-teen mothers were not unheard of.

Someone gets it...The average age of women giving birth is at an all time high of 29.3. This is a very rare occurence of a girl giving birth at this age. Hardly supports anything some would like it to, outliers do not make good arguments, no matter how hard an effort put into it is made.

The average age of pregnancy may have gone up, but that gives no indicator of sexual activity. At least with the increase in sex in the mass media, contraceptive awareness has also..

The age of consent was 12 or under in most states before 1920. It was 7 in Delaware as late as 1895.
