Watson is a sure fire starter at LB on any team. Hood Alualu Marks heck all of our line will start just on different downs
my natural instinct says sarcasm but I will trust in the general good nature across the pond

Watson has been in the league 4 years and started 6 games. I read something saying it was a scheme problem but maybe it was something else but that still gives me a warning flag to say he is not going to be immediate starter. I think he is good for pass rushing downs where russel allen isn't really a threat with the hope he will develop into a good sam linebacker though there is some reports he may be a leo for us.

as for hood, marks had something ridiculous like 800 snaps last year so it will probably be split 50/50 keeping them both fresh. Fresh legs on d line can only help and it's one of the reasons I'm very excited to see our run d next year
I think Abry Jones will challenge Roy Miller, or be in a frequent rotation on the inside at the very least.  In the past 3 years, Miller has had a torn MCL, bulging discs, and this past late December had surgery for a torn labrum in his shoulder.  Miller is a warrior, but these things do impact a player's performance.  In Caldwell's year in review to fans at the stadium club, he highlighted Jones, an undrafted rookie, as someone that exceeded expectations and should have a bright future for the team.  On a side note, the other guy mentioned similarly at that fan forum was LaRoy Reynolds.

I see Abry Jones as more of a Red Bryant lite than a Roy Miller. I get your point about Miller, but I don't think his replacement is on this roster right now. Jones just kind of screams 5 Tech to me for some reason.
I thought besides Posluszny at LB Russell Allen was our best guy.

Well he did play all over the place in college.  It's only O'Halloran's speculation*  and lack of depth at one-tech that made me list him as rotation for Miller.

If they intend to use him at 5tech - that may be curtains for Alualu.

Not sarcastic, i promise. Love the fact that we have international fans.

Scheme was a huge issue for Watson. Gus Juice says he will make a good leo on 3rd downs.

Hood had scheme issues also but has a label that he was over drafted ala alualu.

Bryant, Clemons, Hood, Alualu, Miller, Marks, Branch and Babin is a heck of a line. Predraft i might add.

The defense looks pretty good. Depth is nice. Defense should be a step up from last year. I still think we need LB help and a ball hawk at FS. With that rotation on the D-line, do we need to go DEFENSE with the first pick? (Only if Clowney is there).

With this current defensive line roster, I would address QB, WR/TE, OG/C, LB, FS, in that order. I understand finding future depth, but the holes we have to address are just too important to go defense first (unless Clowney is there).

Makes trading down an option to give us more picks in the first two days. Clowney won't be there and I don't think Mack will be available either.

You thinking Clowney/Mack go 1 and 2?

You think St. Louis trades out/picks Mack or Texans go Mack and Clowney picked by St. Louis/traded.
Yeah a variation. Texans go Clowney and either the ramstake mack or someone trades up for him. The rams probably need Watkins or a LT more than Mack, but iI could still see the rams taking a LB with macks skills.

I do hope Mack falls our way though.
