Quote:I know I would have an issue with it if I thought there was a Aikman, Manning, Rodgers like QB in this draft like you think

I still like both Manziel and Bridgewater. However, as time has gone on, I also like a few other QB values later in the draft as well.

The idea is to get the most value in the draft as possible.
The Jaguars have no incentive to leak any information on a player they're seriously considering taking 3rd overall, absolutely none. I'm not sure why anyone would take any of these reports seriously.

I think that's the biggest question here.  If Pasztor is really going to continue to develop and be a solid RT, then no way do the Jags draft Matthews.  If they think Pasztor can play just as well at guard or that he's not really going to continue to develop, then Matthews becomes at least an option, especially in a trade down scenario.
Leaking information. Smokescreens. My God. How many people have they said they've liked now? You can only take one. Just because they like them as a player doesn't mean they're drafting them. The others league GMs aren't idiots...even the Browns and Raiders. They plan for every possible scenario and have contingency plans for everything. I think waaaaaay to much is read into every one of these comments.

I don't necessarily think it's a smoke screen.  It's quite possible the Jaguars are keeping all of their options open with that pick because there really isn't a cohesive idea as to what is going to happen with 1st and 2nd picks.  Speculation is all over the place, so the team in the 3 hole has to look at all of the possibilities.

I'm agreeing.

I am so sick of seeing the terms leaks and smokescreens. More what my semi-rant was referring to.

Understood, but I think there's more media speculation here than actual smoke screens generated by the Jaguars front office.
