I just hope we hear good news soon. Having a committed and healthy Blackmon is really key for this team.

It's really not, though. Caldwell and/or Bradley are on record saying that Blackmon is viewed as a luxury, not a key piece of the build. I wouldn't be shocked at all if he's off-loaded for a mid-round pick shortly after reinstatement, particularly if the Jags grab a wideout in the first or second round.

They'd be fools to do that.

I'd handle it like he's going to play here and star here or nowhere. The Jags unload him for peanuts and they'll regret it. I don't want that to ever have a chance of happening.
Quote:Good he needs to ninja vanish until camps start. Dont wanna hear a sinlge peep unless its:

"OTA's open today and Justin Blackmon of the Jaguars arrived at the everbank practice field 30 mins before scheduled start time giving autographs and bantering with he fans . Team sources indicate he has met with Roger Goodell earlier this week and begun his reinstatement process. Blackmon's agent has stated they are very optimistic about the reinstatement process and says his client is doing everything possible to report for team activities and be ready by the start of training camp."

I'm pretty sure players on indefinite suspension aren't allowed near the team's facilities before being reinstated.

I think Blackmon is a luxury they intend to hold on to.  I don't see them trading him regardless of what they do in the draft.
Quote:Yes, but I would think some enterprising reporter could do a tiny bit of investigation and find out if he's coming home drunk every night, or buying loads of liquor at some local liquor store.   I know the team is not supposed to contact him, but it's like the local journalists have taken the same pledge!

Well Marty, get on it.

You're advocating someone stalk Blackmon and report back. Then the media can take a ton of hits for being sleazy stalkers.
Don't jinx it! He is one strike from being banned for a full season. No news is always good news for him!

Okay, I'll get right on that.   I'll let you know when I find out what's what.
I imagine the NFL will announce something around July.

Just my guess as to the timing.  I also think he may have to miss 4 more games before he's off the hook.

Sounds like he was getting some booty, which is something that might keep him in line. A good woman might be exactly when JBL needs.

I bet he misses 8, so hopefully he's the same player we know he was.
