During coverage of the tournament St. Augustine is highlighted, but nary a mention of a very near major city. I don't know what's worse, being ridiculed or ignored.

I know they have featured Jax in previous years a few times, but St. Augustine does have some easy camera friendly fodder that's just as close to Sawgrass as downtown Jax.  I get it, I guess. Maybe they'll mix it up today. 

 

I'm headed out there around 2pm to watch the finish in person.

Did not watch, but there are things downtown that could and should be highlighted over the course of four days. The River, the beaches, the stadium, the plans Khan has for the future of the development along the river to name some.

Not sure what coverage you watched, but they showed views of downtown and Johnny Miller even mentioned how he loves the beaches of Jacksonville and visits here regularly.
