Quote:I'm not a huge wrestling fan anymore but I was pretty shocked that he lost.

lol, yeah.....uh, he "lost" lolz...

Do these people actually believe this crap is real??

Scripted, its all scripted.

Quote:Yeah, the fact it was to a part timer that really doesn't feel the same about the business itself like a lot of the other wrestlers kind of boggles my mind.
The undertaker is a part timer himself. he has pretty much only been around during wrestlemania season for the last few years. He has been in a few matches besides then, but for the most part he's pretty much disappeared other than wrestlemania

What a revelation.

You know the TV shows you watch are scripted too right? I'm sure that doesn't make you like them any less.

Look guys... If you don't like pro-wrestling, and you think that it's dumb, than why on Earth are you posting in this thread?

I actually enjoyed it when I was growing up. Back in its glory days of the 80's....

I just think its funny to read people seem almost exasperated in the thought that one wrestler "lost" vs another via skill when we all know its just a big production.

Here we go again, again...
The first 20 or so plays of a football game are scripted also, so it's fake too. :whistling:

Hey now....its only fake in Indianapolis Ninja
Scripted? Wait just a second here... Your telling me its not real? It's all a lie?????

Seriously TMD, thank you for the insight. I can't imagine if I died thinking wrestling was real. Whew, that was a close one.

80's pro wrestling was cheesy and boring.

Also, nobody is saying they are shocked Undertaker lost due to skill. Everyone is surprised he was scripted to lose.

Of course he would lose based on skill. His opponent is a UFC fighter.
The entire 70k+ crowd was shocked.

Speculation is he approached McMahon about retirement, and now what could have been his final match ends in a loss.

I smell guest appearance(s) at future Wrestlemanias.  Maybe not a match, but maybe brawl, or interfere/intervene in someone else's match.  Especially if it's "revenge" on Lesnar...

How can you script a legend to go out like that?  That's why I think he'll be back in some form if he retires as some expect.  Maybe even to introduce a new generation of disciples.

...and he's 49.

The McMahons are many things, but they are marketing geniuses.  Their twist brought 70k+ to silence.

They really built onto an already strong brand in the late 90s and early 2000s when the McMahon kids got more involved.  IIRC, I heard recently that WWE dominates social media today like no other sport.  They are truly in touch with their target audience.

No, it wasn't. Late 80's WWF was the golden age of the "sport"

More iconic wrestlers/ their persona's came from that era than at any time since.

That was merely the beginning of what it has now become.

Present era "pro"-wrestling has mirrored current era pop music....what once (decades ago) was really good....has devolved into a parody of itself.

We know, we know... *yawn*

Oh god, not the good ole' days...

TMD, go troll other threads please.
