He looked good. He preformed as expected.
It's down to him and Bortles for #1.

If its Bortles at #1, then someone most likely trades with STL for Clowney. We end up choosing between Watkins and Mack (probably Watkins).

I'd personally would rather have Mack instead of Watkins. We have a defensive head coach, who watched his old team win without formidable receivers, and needs a LEO to make his defense click. It's so hard to be patient with a QB, though. Watkins is good, I just believe we are more sure at that position. I love Mack's aggressive style of play, speed, and fit in our defense.
I prefer Mack to Watkins as well... but boy if there was any way we could snag Clowney...

I really, really just don't see anyone trading up to #2 to pick a non-quarterback.

It's too much of an investment for a piece of the puzzle smaller than the quarterback position.

I agree that I don't believe that any team should  trade up to 2 for a non-QB, but I think some stupid team will.

I think for the team that occupies the spot right now, its pretty much been between those 2 players this whole time. Nothing has changed.

I'll say that I will be shocked if any team trades up to #2 for Clowney. Every team with the firepower to do so has a hole at QB or a glaring hole somewhere else that can be filled with another player whose value is appropriate at their current draft spot.

Honestly, I don't see teams trading into the top 5.  This draft is too deep for most intelligent GMs to want to.

The only place I see anyone would trade up would be to #2 for Clowney if the Texans go QB #1.  Otherwise, I agree.  There may be a chance someone with picks to burn will move up for Watkins (as ATL did Jones) but that's only if he gets by the Rams.

Not likely, IMO, but that could bring us a nice return.  Bortles goes first, someone trades up to 2 for Clowney, then whoever is in love with Watkins offers us something enticing to take him at 3.  This draft could get really interesting really early.

I'd be happy with any of those top three. Jags could use any one of them. It's kind of a win-win this year, even if DC can manage to trade back. I'm just impatient and wish I can fast forward to May 8th!!

The Texans taking Bortles #1 overall would be fantastic for every other team in the AFC South, with that said, I don't see them taking Bortles. It will come down to Jadeveon Clowney, Khalil Mack, or Greg Robinson.
I'm still not 100% on board with Clowney. His pro-day athletic-wise was awesome. But that was never a question about him. His interviews didn't show me anything to sway this either:

Clowney said he heard the question Tuesday at dinner with the Texans, who hold the No. 1 overall selection.

“They asked the same questions everybody’s asking, about work ethic,” he said. “I told them the same thing – that I think I work just as hard as everybody. I’ll just keep on pushing until the draft.”

Clowney was asked if he was tired of answering the “work ethic” question. He smiled.

“I’ve been tired of it,” he said. “I’ve been tired of answering a lot of questions, but it’s something you have to do.”

I don't like that response. Why not just say he was taking it easy for the NFL or something to answer the never-ending question. That's just me. I'm not judging the guy because part of me thinks he was just being safe. But his interviews and tape show otherwise so far. If we take him at 3, I hope he proves me seriously wrong!

GO JAGS!!

Of those quotes, the only one that raises any suspicion to me is the " I'll keep pushing until the draft" his other replays I'm fine with. Not sure what else he could say to completely rid us of any suspicion.
I still don't know what to think about Clowney. Last year was troublesome.

If Texans dont take Clowney its just as possible for the Rams to take Clowney as it is for them to trade out of the spot.

I was just thinking that. I'm not sure he falls to 3.
Clowney is going number 1 to the Texans. The Rams will take the offensive tackle so the Jaguars will again have to determine if anyone is willing to offer them enough to move up and select Watkins, Mack, Mathews or one of the quarterbacks. The best scenerio would be for the Jags to move back no worse than 8th and still have the option of getting one of the 3 quarterbacks, Watkins or Mack. They would also receive at least an extra 2nd rounder enabling them to get two quality players in the 2nd or the option of giving up that extra pick to move back into the end of round 1 to get a q.b. who has fallen in the case they don't take a q.b. with their first pick.

If no team is willing to trade, they will take either Watkins or Mack. I would prefer Mack since the Jags could still get a quality receiver in round 2 (Jordan Mathews) or 3 (several possibilities) while there will be no defensive players after round 1 with the capabilities of Mack.

He dominated the tackling dummies.  Unreal.
