I tend to think the media is forcing the Bill O'Brien/Used to work with George O'Leary/Likes tall, prototype QB's narrative and Houston really isn't that interested in Bortles. So, lets assume they go a different direction.

How far does Bortles fall?

I think he'd fall to Minnesota.
i think the media is so overloaded with bs opinions and all kinds of shots at these top guys. people are trying to get the top players to drop to their teams availability. bridgewater is taking the brunt of it. bortles is getting excess praise. i expect all 3 top qbs to go in the top 15 regardless.

I think teams have learned their lesson from 2011 on reaching for QBs.

Locker, Gabbert, and Ponder ended that trend quickly
Cleveland?

Out of the first round.

Texans could and probably will just as easily get him at the top of the second if they want him.

I dunno, it still just blows me away that in a truly stellar/loaded draft with the likes of Clowney(perhaps best NFL prospect in years), Manziel(most exciting player I've ever seen on a football field), Bridgewater(most NFL-ready franchise QB in the draft), as well as a whole slew of other NFL-caliber gamechangers like Watkins, MAck, Evans, etc, etc...It absolutely blows me away that anyone is even talking about a guy like Bottles, who has done nothing on a football field to merit talk of being THE first pick in the NFL draft, let alone a top 10 pick or even a first round selection.
Manziel>Bridgewater>Bortles

Bortles is overhyped, #20 to the Arizona Cardinals.

Hopefully to us in the second. That would be great. We could get a QB and an impact player in either Mack or Watkins.

Really feel Bortles does not fall past #1.

No bias here.
David Caldwell will take trade the pick if Bortles is there at #3.

We should all hope
I think Bortles falls to the teens if the Texans don't bite.  He isn't better than Teddy or Johnny in any aspect of his game that I can see.

He seems like he's getting the Gabbert treatment; i.e., being hyped due to measurables by the media.  I expect he'll have a good pro career due to his clutch factor in games and his ability to take a hit and deliver a throw.  If we manage a trade down to 10 (as some have suggested) and Bortles is there, I'd be in favor of taking him.

Gabbert is a bit unfair. I might say more Tannehill, who has been solid for Miami.

I didn't mean in terms of ability--just inflation of value.

Bortles hasn't done nothing? That's funny because just this last season he did more than any other qb that's in the draft including Bridgewater and Manziel. The hate on this dude is strong and he'll probably end up being the best qb in the draft which would probably make him the best player in it too because he's a quarterback. Gabbert has made a bunch of people cowards when it comes to drafting a thrower.
I think that Bortles, as the best "classic QB" in the draft, will be going in the top ten, if not first overall to the Texans. It's Bridgewater and/or Manziel that will fall. I could see either player going to Houston at #1, and I could easily see either player doing the Geno SlideTM. I don't think Bortles makes it past Minnesota.

I have a feeling Cleveland, Tampa, or Minnesota would take a stab at him; so not far.

GO JAGS!

How old are you? Most exciting player?

While I believe he could develop into a good NFL player, youre pushing someone up your draft board for entertainment value.

?. How do you figure? You're saying like at the collegiate level?

Listen Haze, I'm honestly all for arguing that Bottles has better "size" and better "weight" than these other guys. If you want to speak how Bottles will play in the NFL compared to the others, you might have a case. But if you're speaking "last college season", of Bottles actual play on a collegiate field, like strictly statistically and what he meant to his college team, there were at least 4 QBs better than him in college "last season".

Bottles may very well be better in the NFL, but that's different than what you said. And I personally have never seen anyone ever suggest that Bottles had a better collegiate career than Manziel or Bridgewater. His entire upside has always been his potential and that he has more NFL-like QB size.
