Quote:Why would they? They already have Ryan "Who was that #12 guy again?" Mallett.  Rolleyes
They are trying to trade Mallett plus he will be a free agent next year.
Quote:@RossTuckerNFL: 0.0% chance Pats draft Manziel. Identifying mental strengths/weaknesses in case play him next 2 years

+1.

Also could be trying to get some extra information on his teammates that they are interested in that only a ex teammate would know.

Same goes with the Bridgewater and Bortles visits.

Because he's will be a good starter in this league. Despite you and a few others hoping/ pretending like thats impossible.
A few others like the pats who seem firmly committed to getting him off their roster.
If the Patriots want to trade Mallet + for Manziel that should say something

Oh, I see you're still holding on to that...

how exciting

Hey...he's easily as good as LeFevour and Barkley.

Barkley don't count he was more injured than let on. I would have never advised drafting him even at round 4, seeing as how the injury impaired his 2014 season and per reports still is affecting him.
There's a bigger story underneath this.

Teams can only have four visits.

NE has chosen to spend THREE of those four on QBs.

They expect at least one of them to be there at 1-29.

Didn't know teams could only have 4 visits?

That's from 1010xl.  They could be right, they could be wrong.

It also could be that they are three of only four they currently have scheduled.

i believe they get 30

He'll cling to that until he's proven wrong, in which case he'll claim Mallet was never given a fair chance, or he'll deny his man crush all together.

I'm pretty sure they're allowed 30 prospect visits, not four. Four seems comedically low.

Like I said earlier, they probably meant to say three of only four scheduled (and failed to mention "so far.")  Only four out of 30 set up, and three being QB.  I'd say there's a chance they're expecting to possibly have to choose between a couple of them, as much as "settling for" the one that's still around.

Then, he'll simply regurgitate those same, tired excuses inserting the name Barkley.  I just can't wait to see if Gabbert debunks the Harbaugh myth.  The favorites he plays is truly a blind toss at a dartboard.  Or, for a more accurate visual... more like cow chip bingo.  Keeps laying it down until it coincides with a winner.

This link from ESPNBoston projects the Patriots as only being able to get a late round pick at best for Mallett at the moment.  I know it's only the guys opinion but I thought I would share.

I dont know why they would expect Brady to retire soon. He has at least a good 3 seasons left.

Similar to how they drafted Mallet. I think its a wasted pick because he never plays. He will soon go on the FA market and play elsewhere.
I'd swap picks if they gave us Tom Brady. Not like that would happen.

I wouldn't. Brady's 36.

Pirksters right. Even with '30', it is still a high number of QB visits that Patriots are burning, and a number of people in the sports world have noticed this. Especially since you don't see other non-QB-needy teams like Denver, Seattle, 49ers, etc, doing this. Me thinks Patriots might be seriously looking at Bridgewater and Manziel. But definitely NOT for a trade-up scenario, but rather only if one or both happen to free-fall.

Think 2005 all over again. A free-falling Aaron Rodgers is picked up by a Packers team that literally had no need/use for another QB that high in the draft. Rodgers is forced to sit behind hall of fame QB Favre for 3-long years. Until he finally takes the reigns in 2008, and eventually goes on to win a super-bowl.

Is Manziel or Bridgewater the next free-falling QB to sit 3-years behind a hall of fame QB? Perhaps, but unlikely IMO. They'll both be gone by the time Patriots even have a chance.
