I learned my lesson after my incident. My leg muscles were asking for more but my body from the neck up was giving up...

Quote:how the [BAD WORD REMOVED] do you hurt your shoulders doing squats ?
LOL...
I didn't actually injur my shoulders, the weight resting on my shoulders is what hurted. I resorted to the shoulder supports/harness to no avail. It wasn't for me...
Too Much Weight...

My shoulders are normal for my size. Actually I've always had a muscular built due to genetics. I only lifted dead weights for a short time. I now work out to stay toned only... The wrist injury was the kicker...
My shoulder issue was more of an comfort issue while pushing too much weight simply because my legs could handle the weight. My shoulders disliked the weight...Uncomfortable...
P.S. Be careful of rolllling weight on your vertebrae, people get seriously injured by doing so...

Quote:Been a loooong time since I lifted for real. Just started back though a few weeks ago. Not trying to get anywhere close to what I use to do. Just repping up to 225 now on bench, 275 squat and some light movements with dumbbells. I am doing more machines now then anything. I was 280 at the time.
When I was playing,
Bench - 515
Squat- 650
Clean - 385
13 years ago. No wraps.
Wow beast mode in your youth.

Not even trying to hate, but y'all are posting some pro athlete type of numbers in here. I am very skeptical that you guys are actually posting these kind of stats.

What's an M60 & Master 5?

Quote:Wow beast mode in your youth.Had to for football. I clapped 410 as a senior in high school at the state weightlifting meet. Not sure where it all came from. No one in the family (besides my brother, Diesel), had big numbers really in lifting. I don't miss lifting like that anymore (especially squats) and quite enjoy the light free weights and machines now.

Always remember that proper time to heal (muscle recoup) upon a workout is just as important as proper lifting technique...
Don't over do it surpassed what the body can handle. Always listen to your body because it'll tell you when things are going astray...

Keep in mind that it takes years of training and training right.. not to mention eating right to put up these numbers. I don't see why anyone would lie about this... if I had to be skeptical about anything it might be the technique or form that some people use.

Yeah.. very often I will take a week or so off to heal things up. Usually feel better and stronger after that time period. Part of the reason I lift is to help deal with my cerebral palsy. I've convinced it's kept me strong and out of a wheel chair.. yes it has it's trade off i.e.. lots of joint issues and pain but it's worth it to me.
