Still here.

Does anyone know what happened? I find it odd that some of us have access with our original accounts while others had to reinvent themselves. AND FOR THE LOVE GOD "channeling Chris Farley there" please keep your old name and add a 2.0 or something to that affect. I have killed too many brain cells to figure out who some of you are now

I miss DM13. It's been a long time. Technically I don't think he was ever whacked. He just stopped posting on here. He reminded me a lot of D6 and Sammy. They're guys that don't really have any reason to back the Jaguars but they still come on here in peace and actually offer a ton of value as posters.

I recall him rolling over to another board (Atlanta, maybe?) with the same result.
He didn't remind me much of D6 or Sammy. Those guys are a pleasure to talk to.
While he was very approachable as they are initially, he tended to turn discussions into JDub like exchanges as they went on, then similarly not understand why.
Again, I was actually a little surprised to see his reception being the same on another board - then I realized it wasn't everyone else... it really was him that was the issue.

looking back at the history of this board, we also lost a lot of our posters when the free porn websites started popping up everywhere.

That would explain a few departures for sure, including Bjorn.

No doubt -- the timing of his departure was spot on with the growth of the industry.

I suspect that the board is slowly dying and probably won't be around much longer. Efforts have been made by some of us including some mods and admins to reach out to the "powers that be" to come up with a solution. I personally have emailed certain personnel within the Jaguars organization not only with the frustrating concerns regarding the message board, but also the security issues that I have seen regarding these problems. I have received no response and would not be shocked if the plug is eventually pulled on the message board.
It's kind of sad and a shame when you have an owner and a front-office that touts that they want to "expand and make the 'fan experience' better", yet they neglect the one small part of the internet that is part of that.
While an internet message board is a small sliver of the "fan experience", it's actually a tool that they could use at very little cost to build up the fan base. Remember, Jaguars fans aren't just in Duval county, they reside across the U.S. as well as in countries around the world. Just take a look at some of the users here. England, Ireland, countries in South America, etc.
Like it or not, much of what keeps this team here in Jacksonville is dependent on the international fan base. It's why we have a "home game" in London every year. The cost of fixing the problem is less than the cost to give the players Gatorade during off-season activities.
It's just my opinion, but the organization is really "dropping the ball" with this. It''s kind of fitting actually...

I hope it doesn't come to that - but the traffic here is really low these days. Ugh.
Fingers crossed that someone just updates the damn software.

IF the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost of our Dark Era didn't do me in (Gene Smith - Blaine Gabbert - Alfie), the Purge doesn't have a chance.

This is what frustrates me. I have a feeling if someone took 5 minutes to tell Mr. Khan about the history of, and interest in, this message board, his response would likely be one of wondering why it wasn't fixed already.
